you need to chill and stop getting so defensive... - arh777
I am completely chill, but you keep saying that the Blues and Sharks had a better defense.
The playoffs are different, and the stats in the playoffs still coincide with how the Hawks played in the regular season.
This series will be anything but easy. I picked the Kings most likely to repeat because they play playoff hockey so well, but I'm just letting you know the FACTS that the Hawks still possess defensive prowess as they did in the regular season.
The Kings will be the real test. If the Hawks manage to advance then I like our chances. |

Never said the Hawks can't compete and don't have a great defense. They are a great team and it should be a great series. - arh777
Hey buddy, you started this with your St. Louis comment, which was totally wrong.. Go Hawks! |

The only thing that matters is the playoffs, not the regular season....totally different animal! - arh777
You seem to forget the the Hawks have been in this position before. The key players from our cup run are still here. You seem to think that the Kings are some unbeatable monster who can't be stopped. They have had a great run the last two years and are a very good team, I'm not going to say they aren't. But I would argue that the kings in their two playoffs have not faced a team with the kind of offensive fire power and.... TEAM DEFENSE that this hawks team has. If you just want to brush this team off as some scrub team then you are a fool to do so....Also I can't believe you can say San Jose is a better defensive team then the Hawks with a straight face |

Well, I think St Louis is better than both of them. But they aren't playing right now, so it doesn't matter what I think.
Should be a fun series to watch.

A bit nervous about this series. Some of the guys who havent been so visible in the first two rounds need to make their presence felt to advance.
The biggest concern is LA pushing the Hawks to the perimeter, sure everyone knows that's how to play the Hawks, but when teams do it properly (det game 2& 3) it can get really ugly in a hurry.
I am looking forward to 7 games of watching Dustin Brown try and figure out his water bottle
I kid, probably my favorite non-Hawk. |

That's it, man. Game over.
Why even play this series?
Let's also forget we've owned the Blues the past 2 seasons with their lights out defense. |

Our d drastically changed at the trade deadline.
We have played one game since then against each other, and it doesn't really count as the Ice Hogs played us instead of the Blackhawks. |

It's kind of funny....the Hawks are the only ones who think their defense is far superior! Let me give you some advice. Throw out the regular season. It matters NOT!St Louis was superior to the Hawks and we beat them. As Darryl Sutter said and I quote: On rooting for Detroit to beat Chicago, considering the Kings have won 14 in a row at home:
“Regular season doesn’t mean screw-all to me, quite honest.” - arh777
Is this the same Daryl Sutter who couldn't get Calgary past the regular season into the playoffs?? |

Let's just all stop handing the series to LA.
Quick is not some God. Not yet. He's a very good goalie and better than Crawford for sure but he also has not seen the firepower of Chicago yet in these playoffs. The Blues and Sharks are NOT the Hawks in terms of the offensive end.
If the Hawks are firing at 100% I think even LA is going to have a tough time keeping pucks out of the net. The question is whether they can play that complete game or not. |
