not to pick on anybody, but i really hate it when people use betting lines to help justify their "picks" of who will win.
the betting line is set up for one thing - to guarantee as much action as possible from both sides. it is very well thought out and is an attempt to get the casinos more money.
i'm not saying that they also don't think the hawks will win, but lets understand what the line REALLY means. - dr_boloney
I really hate when people think people are using betting lines to explain their 'picks' when they are not. It's just a talking point, we understand how gambling works. JJ wrote an entire blog explaining his 'pick' without mentioning gambling. |

I probably have had season tickets to the Kings longer than you have been a Hawks fan.. |

I agree... Wings fans say the same thing... Blackhawks est 2010... its nothing more than a distraction from what's happening on the ice. Everyone becomes a fan at some point. Now excuse me while I take out my 'i've been a fan for 20 years card' |

Kings beat the Blues in 6. So not two 7 game series. FYI |

no... do you think they really even sell any? i don't. i think they might sell a couple hundred before they shuffle the rest to brokers to sell 2x face for a commission through NHL ticket exchange or Stub Hub. |

John Jaeckel: Hawks in 7 - John Jaeckel
why 7? LA barely beat a sharks team that only had 2 lines scoring. you guys should win in 5, 6 if you have an off game. |

Blues series felt like 7... And I am afraid those 2 series and the wear and tear will from them will really start to show up in this series.. Though I guess the math says Kings only played 1 more game than the Hawks so far..
Hawks will be jumping on Saturday, Kings need to weather the storm the first 10 Minutes and try to settle in. |

I got 2 pairs for game 7. I figured that most presales took the for sure games of 1,2,5 and it left some open for 7. It would be a hell of a game to be at if it happened. |

this is true. before any playoff game, check stubhub and notice how "somebody" is mysteriously selling banks of 18 tickets in sections all over the 300 level.
furthermore, when they released tickets for the first and second rounds, i couldnt get a pair of tickets through ticketmaster. only tickets available were singles. then the day of game, you could get a pair through ticketmaster (and not through the resale site, but the actual ticketmaster site)
silliness. |

So having lost to that same LA team would equate to SJ getting swept? Good to know. |

Vegas lines also establish the "favorite". Maybe yet another reason it was brought up. The Kings are NOT the favorite in this series. |

yes, and on ebay the same seller with 10-15 pairs ... they pretty much set the secondary market as well. as you said, day of game you still hundreds of listings for anywhere you want to sit if you're willing to pay the piper. |

Yeah, it's lame when Detroit fans play that card over here. Lame when played on Kings fans.

My prediction, it will be similar to the Blues in the 1st round.
Quick will be great. Crawford will be ok/good.
The difference in goaltending is going to mean the Kings move on. |

Great analysis JJ
Had you listened to me and taken the Pens you would be 10 for 11 so I will give you a Mulligan on the Sens
I have no idea who will win but I was one of few who picked the Hawks after Game 4 against Detroit
I see the Hawks letting it all hang out after the pressure that was on against the underdog Wings
Expecting a good series and a rough series
Hoping our speed is the difference

That is a plausible argument.
Quick is going to see more pressure however. Maybe a lot more. And more than he saw vs. The Blues. |
