Effort was great the first two periods. I question the effort in the third. That said, this game was all Rask and Kreji.
Power play sucked tonight - Oneonta Penguin
That second goal really took the wind out of them. |

Rask: 1st ever playoff SO....and against the Penguins. Amazing. We just couldn't score. The score looks a lot worse than it shoulded. |

Not too worried. They outplayed the bruins, just need to tighten up that D (I sound like a broken record) |

Having Malkin spending nearly 7 minutes in the box in the 3rd didn't help, but I thought this was a typical goalie stealing a game. Credit to Rask. Vokoun should start next game. Not his fault. |

One of the post shots goes in its a different game. Didn't like all the space out there. A lot of very good sticks from Bruin defensemen too. I don't like Niskanen, he can't make a single pass without kooking it. Letang needs to calm the hell down and stop his stupid pinches.
Still could have gone either way. |

It seems like this team gives up the oddest goals. They never give up the highlight goals just the weird ones.

That felt wayyyyy too similar to the last time we played a hot goalie after beating the Senators in the playoffs... |

How about the first chance of the game? Kunitz missed the puck, all alone. If we scored the story could be a whole lot different. Boston would have to open up to try to score and we'd benefit from it. |

Penguins are going to have to adjust to the B's style of play.
1st period was Penguins hockey
2nd and 3rd..All B's
Rask and the Posts were phenoms today.
I like the physical play, however Sid and Geno should not be involved. Their composure the rest of the way is going to be critical. They both lost their poop tonight. |

I agree that Vokoun should start, but disagree that it's not his fault. He deserves a fair share of blame tonight, IMO.
The inconsistency on those boarding calls has me salty, although that's not why we lost. |

Not too sure about that, but if we get a couple early the story is decidedly different...Woulda Coulda Shoulda.
Haha, Milbury giving Blysma poop, credits Julian with in game changes. Not sure he isn't right.

The Boarding calls looked great compared to the no call on the inteference on that breakaway lol. That was a 5 on 3 all day if campbells dad wasnt in the crowd and his old underlings didnt know they were gonna have to see him after the game lol. Pathetic nhl as usual. |

both teams got away with poop, I'm not saying I disagree with you on these particular instances, but let's not start with this crap again |

Honestly didn't think Vokoun had much of a chance on any of the 3 goals. I don't believe he did anything that would justify pulling him for Game 2.
Bruins are tough, clearly the 2nd best team in the East. You guys are going to hate them (and Marchand in particular) by the time this is over, if you don't already. I think the Pens will still win this, but I feel less strongly about it then I did at 8PM. |

It's easy to tighten up when you have the lead and the Pens were whiffing on half their chances. It's hard for me to take Bylsma to task for some of the decisions on the ice. Letang was brutal at times.
Two changes I make is I get Iggy on the number one PP. They need that right handed shot. I start Vitale over Adams or TK. Need to win more faceoffs. |

I thought both Cooke and Marchand should have gotten 2 minute minors, but the Cooke hit was a little worse IMO. |

I thought the reffing was pretty good. I didn't like the disparity of the boarding calls and that was interference for sure on that break away. I'd feel differently if the B's scored on that, but they didn't. Overall the refs had no bearing on this game IMO. |

like I said, I don't disagree, but to blame it on soupy's dad is just ridiculous, same as it was in 2011
Both teams got away with stuff, it's not like the Pens didn't get any PP's, tonight they just couldn't score on them. I don't expect that trend to continue. If the Bruins continue to take penalties like they did tonight they are in trouble. |

Yep, it would have been obvious to give Marchand the boot since Cooke got it. Other than that officiating didn't decide this game at all. Plenty of bs calls both ways...typical NHL.
Faceoffs were a 2 - 1 disadvantage. That needs to get better. |

I don't blame you, and perhaps the NHL will review them both, we'll see. McQuaid does turn and it's not like he didn't know he was coming.
and I agree it should have been an interference call |

There should be no review for either. I knew McQuaid wasn't injured. I was thinking Neal should have acted injured. Honestly, Boarding has been the missing penalty in these playoffs. No wonder these guys don't know what's acceptable in the post season. |
