I thought both Cooke and Marchand should have gotten 2 minute minors, but the Cooke hit was a little worse IMO. - MadCap2008
I'm guilty of similar hits myself. Boarding minors, very careless plays by both. |

I only saw a replay of the cooke hit, Neal did stay down for a bit, but either way if you were gonna toss cooke you gotta toss Marchand there - Rayven
Let me preface this by saying I'm sure it hurt, but McQuaid did one hell of a sell job on that. He stayed down longer than he should have to sell the call. It was a miraculous recovery. Neal stayed down a bit? He didn't sell the call at all. He should have acted hurt like McQuaid. After all, the refs arm didn't go up on the Cooke hit until a few seconds later after McQuaid was down. It wasn't an immediate call.

Oh, you mean like Malkin did, when he drew the penalty on Marchant, in the third? |

A classic case of pressing. We acknowledge this team isn't a defensive juggernaut, but they've rarely had a problem scoring to stay in games. They didn't play a patient game.....maybe they can make that adjustment, but frankly, I'm not counting on it. We'll See... - madmike71
Yeah I don't see too many more shut outs for Rask against this Pens squad, I never expected they would win this game, but I'll take it.
I was hoping for the split on the second game. |

Marchand didn't get penalized in the 3rd... What else you got? |

Quaider saw him coming, turned and took a hit from behind in the numbers, yes he sold it some but it's still a hit from behind. So was Marchands, and I'm sure it hurt as well, but it's incorrect to say that Neal did not stay down. |

every team has mulligans in a series. would have been nice to save it... but in all honesty, I expected to go to Boston tied 1-1 and I expect to come back from boston 2-2.
teams are a very close matchup. wouldn't be shocked to see it go 7. |

While playing with fire, losing the first game is not necessarily a bad thing.
What went right, heck tons. What was wrong, not a lot (other than the outcome). |

agreed. penguins did really well in a lot of different stats...
we knew that the Bruins were going to dominate the faceoffs.
was greatly surprised by our hitting tonight. we did a great job. some really big hits and we hit Chara at every opportunity.
good to see.
like I said before, I am feeling a lot better with tonight's game. yes we lost, but I saw a penguins team outplay a bruins team who just happened to capitalize when it mattered. |

Some pretty funny stuff going on in the media.
Bruins saying all the right things.
We won because we are a team.
They are more talented.
A couple of bounces.
Blah. Disgusting. Whatever what stands out is they threw it in the Pens faces...they won because they are a team.
That's a straight out dig at Sid and Geno and the rest of our squad. That was game 1. All I'm saying. |

Neal didn't try to sell it. He didn't act like he just got shot to get attention. He didn't stay down anything close to the actor like McQuaid. Trying to say he did is foolish on your part. Miraculous comeback for McQuaid. |

Whoever is saying Boston is more talented couldn't be more wrong. They won because of their defense and goalie.

I believe the point was Pens more talented but Bruins a team if I understood the post correctly. |

Pens certainly could have scored, but Boston also didn't convert on a number of good opportunities. |

Just think if the Leafs didn't implode you guys would be down 1-0 to Toronto right now.

I think the Pens had the better chances. Not taking anything away from, Boston, but they didn't have tons of great chances. But hey, they converted on a couple of poor defensive efforts from the Pens....give them credit.
Like I said before, I'd be more concerned if the game looked like a few of those Isle games. Rask largely stole this game, it happens. We'll see if he can continue to play on that level. |

I gotta wonder what Crosby thought he was accomplishing going at Z like that
or bumping Rask getting off the ice - Rayven
If you watch the whole play, I'm 99% sure that Rask bumps Crosby first while he is skating off, just about the time the Malkin-Bergeron thing is starting...Crosby turned around and started chirping at Rask, which started the Chara incident. |

I don't care who bumps who, Sid and Geno need to ignore the extracurricular sh*t. Geno missing the first 6+ minutes of the 3rd for fighting is inexcusable. |

Unfortunately, I think the Rags would have beaten the Leafs and the Pens would be in the process of sweeping New York right now. |
