I don't care who bumps who, Sid and Geno need to ignore the extracurricular sh*t. Geno missing the first 6+ minutes of the 3rd for fighting is inexcusable. - madmike71
The Malkin "fight" was ridiculous, but at the time it seemed like an ok trade-off to get Bergeron off the ice. The Pens, and in particular their stars, get sucked into the extracurricular stuff too easily - in fact, they seem to initiate a lot of it. I don't get it, and it never seems to serve them well. |

Maybe if the Pens were nursing a 1 goal lead, but having Malkin missing the first 6 mins of a period while they're protecting a lead is a win for the B's. Bergeron was killing the FO's, but Geno was irreplaceable in that circumstance.
I think you'll see a much more disciplined team next game.....as far as emotions go. |

Unfortunately, I think the Rags would have beaten the Leafs and the Pens would be in the process of sweeping New York right now. - MadCap2008
I actually think Toronto would of beat teh Rags. |

The puck just wouldn't go in. No bounces. Frustrating.

Neal didn't try to sell it. He didn't act like he just got shot to get attention. He didn't stay down anything close to the actor like McQuaid. Trying to say he did is foolish on your part. Miraculous comeback for McQuaid. - Oneonta Penguin
clearly we aren't gonna agree on this point, Neal went down and then took his sweet time getting back up, stays on his knees etc
is it the same or worse as what McQuaid did ? no, and I never said it was, but he didn't just pop right back up as it seems like you are saying |

Cooke isn't getting any extra hearing, not sure about Marchand though. Anyone see any news on him yet? |

Cooke shouldn't have gotten anything extra. But why would Marchand? |

Rayven, I thought it all depends on the reaction of our players. When Cooke hit McQuaid, every Bruins player went after him and started a scrumble. The penguins players didn't, other than just talk something to Marchand. We could have sold that hit just like the Bruins players did. It works |

It plays a BIG factor for sure. How about the interference on Letang. That was disgusting/gutless as Tortorella would say
They called it on Orpik and didn't call it on Marchand (which was way worse) |

Nobody got hurt. No hearings. Right or wrong, that's the NHL. Like I said before, I'm surprise either penalty was called. "Boarding" has mysteriously disappeared through most of the playoffs. |

Yep, Penguins played it smart, and I'm not trying to say it wasn't a penalty or that it wasn't a dirty hit cause it was. I've even said if they tossed Cooke then they should have tossed Marchand. My point is when you look at what both guys (McQuaid and Neal) did after they were hit, McQuaid definitely sold it more, but Neal didn't exactly jump right up and skate away. He refuses to admit Neal did anything after the hit which I find odd considering I haven't really disagreed with much else he's had to say but I shall agree to disagree and leave it there. |

I thought the only difference here was the reaction by your/our players after the hit. McQuaid did stay down a little longer than Neal (maybe 30 seconds more) and acted like he was shot. I'm sure those hits must hurt if you get caught in a bad position.
But, you know...last night just wasn't right..wouldn't go in

He was on the ice like 60 seconds less than McQuaid and didn't try to act like he was injured. Big difference. McQuaid sold it, Neal didn't.

Honestly, the only difference I saw was Neal got on his knees right away (but not on his feet) while McQuaid laid on the ice a little longer. To quote a slimy politician... "what difference, at this point, does it make." |

Marchands hit was the same, if not more violent. If Cooke gets tossed for a game, then why not Marchand? Also isn't he a repeat offender |
