If you watch the whole play, I'm 99% sure that Rask bumps Crosby first while he is skating off, just about the time the Malkin-Bergeron thing is starting...Crosby turned around and started chirping at Rask, which started the Chara incident.
- Emperor Filonius

Sid bumped Rask, Rask gave him a hook, then Sid turned around to confront him. That's what I saw.

Marchands hit was the same, if not more violent. If Cooke gets tossed for a game, then why not Marchand? Also isn't he a repeat offender
- drummer829

No doubt. Look at this article.

Cooke hit = dirty

Marchand hit = dirty

Both players deserve suspensions

Shanahan needs to get fired. Players are not safe while these plays go unpunished

Also, he is crooked

The thing is, Cooke got his game misconduct, and in the 1st it's your 1 game suspension right there. Marchand got 2 minutes at the end of the 2nd. Only thing im female doging about is consistency. Julian admitted Mcquaid put himself in a vulnerable position. If the bruins own coach can see that, how can't their fans?

There should be no such thing as a vulnerable position.

Pens fans live to point out that McQuaid saw Cooke coming... Well that means Cooke had lots of time to change his angle or just not deliver the dirty hit.

I agree marchamd should have gotten the misconduct as well. But honestly my gripe with head office. They were supposed to be eliminating this stuff through suspension. The suspensions are supposed to make players think twice

Cooke can barely think once. Marchand should know better

No such thing as a vulnerable position? If you see a guy coming to hit you, and then you show him your back, that's putting yourself in a vulnerable position. Again, the coach sees it, yet no one else does...

Yeah nothing serious. Sid was irritated from working down low. He was having a back and forth chirp with Chara. You could even see they were laughing a bit. No big deal. On to Game 2.

Yeah, a bit over-stated...

I saw it as Crosby trying to get in Rask's head a bit. But Sid also knows messing with the other team's keeper is a dangerous tactic.

That would suck. I don't think we have a player that could stand up to Chara in a fight. I'd trust in Engelland more than Murray if that was the case. Still a mismatch.

Iggy's pretty old for fighting.

I wanna see the Penguins responding quick next game. It was a very frustrating night. We just couldn't buy a goal. We had our chances. Thanks to the post we didn't score a couple goals, at least.

Isn't Chara up there in age too?

Yeah, isn't good having Malkin and Crosby lose themselves a little (cant lie though it entertains me when they do). Next game will be completely different. Had we managed to obtain our average of 4 goals, would of been a victory

It's the dumbest stat ever. A shot to the post should count. I think the Pens had 4 or 5 last night. All I'm saying is that Rask had A LOT of luck last night. We are talking about a team that scores an average of 4 per game. We hit a lot of posts and Rask made marvelous saves. Vokoun was pretty good too and made some awessome saves but let in a couple we should never allow.

They did, but not nearly as much as the Pens. Vokoun didn't lose us the game.

Chara is a 6'9" mofo....Iggy 6'1"

I'm sure we'll find ways to score next game. We need to hit it. We missed too many opportunities.

Yes he certainly had some luck, but goalies tend to manufacture their own luck to some degree if ya know what I mean, but I can live with this statement

I can't think of any goal that I'd really blame Vokoun for. Maybe the Horton one cause he had time to reposition and then shoot and Vokoun still didn't get over in time but even that is a stretch I think.
