There should be no such thing as a vulnerable position.
Pens fans live to point out that McQuaid saw Cooke coming... Well that means Cooke had lots of time to change his angle or just not deliver the dirty hit.
I agree marchamd should have gotten the misconduct as well. But honestly my gripe with head office. They were supposed to be eliminating this stuff through suspension. The suspensions are supposed to make players think twice
Cooke can barely think once. Marchand should know better - conor_smythe
Marchand should know better? He is just as dirty as Cooke.

Right now I think Cooke's cleaner. Marchand is wrecking ball of hate but apparently he gets the Chris Neil threatment(no calls+can do whatever the F he wants on the ice) |

It was Cooke's first non-fighting major in two years and one that never should have been called that in the first place. No one is denying what Cooke has done in the past but people who fail to admit that Cooke has changed his approach to the game the past couple of seasons are simply not objective and will pile on him no matter what.
Marchand has quickly gained a reputation for being dirty as well whether Bruin fans want to admit it or not. |

How many careers has Marchand ended ? How many people has Marchand injured ?
I think you'd better rethink this statement. |

Marchand plays on the edge, and yes he occasionally crosses it, but he is nowhere near as dirty as cooke is. I think most Bruins fans would acknowledge this. |

Yeah, a bit over-stated...
I saw it as Crosby trying to get in Rask's head a bit. But Sid also knows messing with the other team's keeper is a dangerous tactic. - wolfhounds
It does look like he went out of his way to cross paths with Rask, why wasn't he heading to the bench? What a Richard. |

No, it should have been called. The debate is whether or not Marchand should have too. Cooke deserves every call he gets, he's earned that. |

Same amount as Cooke. Remember Savard came back, and got smeared by Matt Hunwick. Marchand gave Sami Salo a concussion. I know it's Salo and he gets hurt if he is looked at wrong, but Marchand still hurt him. |

That was an unfortunate result of a hip check, not an illegal hit, and if it wasn't for the major concussion from cooke's hit Savvy is probably still playing. The hit from Hunwick wasn't much of a hit but he bounced his melon off the glass and again it was from behind. |

I hate to be THAT guy, but Cooke's hit wasn't an illegal hit at the time. I want to be clear- I HATE that he hit Savard like that, and hate even more that it ended up being a career ending play, but that hit wasn't "illegal" either. Cooke has been a dirty player in the past and certainly still has his moments, but he is ultimately very comparable to Brad Marchand. |

Troll attempt? No, to be honest, I thought Marchand should have been tossed to, based on the fact Cooke was, but Cooke has earned his reputation, didn't he slice someone's tendon this year?
But that's not the reason pens lost the game, can't win if you don't score. |

He did come back and fight several times. But I guess bare knuckles smashing into a guys head who got a concussion wouldn't hurt his career. Nahhhh no chance.
Not saying Cooke didn't hurt him but he came back and played. Probably should've sat out longer. Medical staff and league policy have to be called into question as well. |

I still don't consider Marchand's transgressions as severe as cooke's. It's quite likely that I have a skewed pov considering the Savard incident but either way it's another thing I shall agree to disagree on

down 1-0 in a game after being a better team in the first two periods, you have to be able to score on the pp and NOT dump and chase all the time!!!
PP1a)
geno neal morrow with dupes and letang on point
PP1b)
sid iggy kuni with martin and nisk on point
HCDB is horrible at in game situational awareness. He needs to put iggy with sid and kuni with neal when sh!t aint going right.... horrible coaching simply horrible coaching from him... |

Thanks to Cooke right? Watching Savard's videos, looks like he put himself in quite a lot of dangerous plays. I don't think he used his smarts to avoid checks or cover himself when needed. He was not a smart player in that regard. Not saying this to protect Cooke or anything, just something I noticed.
Cooke and Marchand should had been penalized accordingly. It didn't happen that way. |
