Problem is, they were going to start the 3rd on the Powerplay. Doesn't help in a 1-0 game when one of your best players and a mainstay on the PP can't be on the ice for it. - cap1681
But we have to consider we took their best PK as well. I have no problem with that fight. If it was Malkin vs Paille that would be a different story. |

So, my thoughts on the game:
Penguins came out guns blazing, and looked like they were going to completely conntrol the play, especially in the 1st 5-8 minutes. Credit is deserved for the Bruins D, as they were getting in shooting and passing lanes, and Rask, who made a few great saves early to keep it 0-0. The Bruins first goal kind of deflated the Pens a little. One thing I noticed, was that the Pens couldn't hit the net when shooting high, something they did on a regular basis against Ottawa. This may be some rust from being off for 8 days. A lot of Rask's really nice saves were hitting him in the leg pads. If they can start elevating the puck and hit the net, the goals will come. |

I guess you missed Chara trying to hit Crosby's face before all of that. You are the "butt hurt" guy, aren't you? Tonight will be a battle. - Orpik44
Haha yes it is a clear winner for the butthurt Bruin guy 77emac77. The guy that watches the game but doesn't pay attention or drinks too much and forgets the order in which things occurred.

I think missing the net like they did was more of a fluke than rust. Either way, it won't continue. |

Is this what you are talking about, "chara two handing Sid in the face" cause it looks to me like sid runs right into chara. Whats the big guy supposed to do there? You guys need to toughen up a bit. |

Yeah I do. I'm not the one calling a nudge bush league. I can't lie, I enjoy Crosby going back at Chara, and nudging Rask. I also enjoyed Malkin decking Bergeron. But they need to temper that emotion.
The Penguins don't play well when they get sucked into that after the whistle tough guy bullpoop though. So hopefully they smarten up. |

Crosby needs to stop yapping at everyone.
Crosby needs to not piss Chara off.
Malkin needs to not fight.
Get back to hockey and don't let frustration dictate the outcome. This is when we'll really see if they learned anything from last year. I said before the series that the Bruins can play the Flyers game better than the Flyers and that's just what they did in game 1. Well that and Rask stood on his head.
The calls aren't always going to go there way and they need to deal with it and not throw hissy fits all over the ice.
Must win tonight- get your heads in it. |

It was after the period had ended and they were leaving the ice, do I think it's a big deal ? no not really, but there is no need of it either. Save it for when the game is on.
Crosby shouldn't be trying to play tough guy anytime let alone with a recently healed jaw. He's not gonna drop the gloves with anyone let alone Chara. If anyone gives him a face wash or gets anywhere near him you'll all cry that they are deliberately targeting him or his melon. He's the best player on the ice, of course he's be gonna be a target, and the Pens do it as well. |

Good stuff...
I think that the team was wrapped a little tight after the break that was longer than this year's training camp. Their fuse was a little shorter than it has been at anytime this season.
An early goal will do wonders tonight. |

First goal is so huge. They got frustrated because they could have had 6 in the first 5 minutes and came away with nothing.
Regardless, that's when maturity should be kicking in. Stick with it and keep working, don't get frustrated and start taking bad penalties.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Engo dress tonight. If he could get Chara to drop them that would be great. He might die, but he's not that good and Chara will be off the ice for 5 minutes. |

Chara is too discipline to drops the gloves. He's their best player and he's not going to remove himself from the ice for 5 mins. Now Bergeron on the other hand... |

Reports are that "this is a very big game in goal for Vokoun"
My guess...if the pens fall 0-2 to the Bruins, Flower is in goal for game 3 |
