Stalberg will likely cost more than Gagne. Definitely would have interest, though. He's played well for the Blackhawks. - Jsaquella
The biggest reason to re-sign Gagne, for a team that stinks on the defensive side of the puck, is that he's got impeccable positioning and his defensive IQ is still top-notch. He's a real stabilizing force out there.
IMO, Stalberg's just a bigger, less-reliable version of Gagne. Probably cost more, too. |

Gagne on a two year, $4m deal would be fine by me. |

If the Flyers project Nichuskin to be a top 10 player in the league, then they should absolutely try to get him. I don't know enough about any of the prospects to comment whether they can be elite. However, the Flyers haven't had the opportunity to draft top 5 talent too often, I would have no issue if they traded up. I'm all for drafting elite talent over an abundance of good prospects to add organizational depth. |

If the Flyers always tried to move up cause they thought a player was going to be one of the best in the league, then every year they would be throwing their entire roster at teams for the 1st overall. Can't always go after that guy. |

First, how does anyone know they will have to get to first overall to draft a player they value? Also, the Flyers tend not to draft in the top 10 very often. This year is an aberration from where they usually draft. So to identify a player they feel very strongly about who in a normal draft year they would have no ability to trade up and get, they certainly should entertain the idea of trading up to acquire a franchise player. |

You're correct. He may have had a previous injury, in which his back may never be the same. But I think he's missed 1 game the last two Seasons. And he plays well over 20 minutes a game. And I think Yandle is very dynamic offensive puck mover. But Edler is a better all around defenseman who can play in all situations. He is by far my first choice of the rumored defenseman that might be available. Might being the key word. - MJL
Edler has gutted it out admirably through his chronic back issues thus far, but they are by no means over. He was considering another surgery only a few months back, and may do so again...some Vancouver fans and other observers can tell you that he struggles with consistency, which some logically infer is, in part, due to his chronic back issues. With that said, I'm ok with the risk of bringing him in so long as the price to pay isn't our top young players or 1st rd picks, and if we do bring him in, we don't overburden him with too much responsibility. But as we know, he may not even be available.

What did he hurt? I've missed literally everything over this last weekend.
Also, kinda nice seeing the Kings losing for once. Shame it had to be to the Hawks. I can live with it I guess |

Could be but they are pretty resilient so wouldn't count them out. |

I don't think so, last year they had a healthy team for the cup run and this year they have plenty of injuries to deal with in this run.
Makes a big difference in team chemistry. |

Exactly, and I think they may be worn out trying to compensate for all of it.

Well we can't get team chemistry because our GM at times does too much tinkering that it almost at times prevents it from happening. |

Maybe or just Chicago is just the better team at the moment. Still way to early to suggest LA is going to just fold. |

Chicago is the better team at the moment. What I am seeing that leads me to my conclusion is that Chicago is initiating the physical play, which is something that is supposed to be more LA's game.
I never said they would fold. It just seems that it looks to me like they are worn out.

If Richards is out for any length of time, it changes the series dramatically. The Kings are mentally tough and seasoned, Richards is a critical piece in their top 6 forwards. |

Hawks PK operating at 98% efficiency with no defensive Dmen in the lineup.
Speed on D and the ability to move pucks as well as getting to loose pucks seems to be a growing trend rather than having hitters and shot blockers. |
