95% of CC "confidence" issue is on this board not in CC's head.
But yes with success comes confidence. This whole deal of reading peoples body language from a distance is foolish to me.
I can't believe Sharp sat next to CC yesterday and told us they all believe in CC. That can not be true. - TrueGrit
Are you his personal or the team's psychologist?

I actuallydon't think he fough the puck much this year, but in part he was given" time-outs", er, rest because they felt Emery could come in for strings without any drop there.
That is also a way you work yourself.
Everybody want to play and I think his teammates want him to succeed, and I think from the start, when he was brought up and was older than the teams vets but was the rookie who had to work his way in, he was always an unassumi g kid who just wants to be in the position he is in.
I just think it doesn't take much at the NHL skill level to be made into a monkey.
We saw it happen to Fleury, and countless others in any given game.
I wll continue to say, in each game there ARE many saves that goalies just have to make, and if they don't make all of them the team has to fight through it and at any moment whether it is Quick or Crawford, it can happen.
The answer is to not have it happen to YOU a lot. - wiz1901

I see, so it is common knowledge to the contrary of what I assume. And if enough people assume the same thing, then it is true? |

Ok, so it's not possible to say a guy is showing improvement? I think very good is being fair, if not generous.
I'm not on the Chicago media-fueled kool aid train just yet. I'll give the guy his props, he has come up big since early in the Detroit series.
But any idiot saying he's "outplaying" Quick however, obviously can't see the difference in the quality of chances Quick faces and the numbers of them versus what Crawford's seeing.
THAT'S the real point, this defense makes Crawford's (and Emery's) job easier. They don't have to be great, just consistently good to very good.
30 out of 30 NHL GMs take Quick or Lundqvist, probably Rask and a few other goalies (minimum) over Crawford.
I will also tell you that signign Rantaa was not just to replace Emery. They want to strengthen the position overall and this guy absolutely will compete with Crawford.

You know what, lighten up. You ASSUMED I didn't read the rest of your previous argument.
Piece of advice, stop beating dead horses and telling everyone how you espouse the "hidden truths" when everyone else is all about "conventional wisdom" because it's not what you espouse.
More sheep are on the Corey Crawford Love Train than not. Case in point. |

Probably will back up Crawford in 2013-2014 and I wouldn't be surprised to see him take over in 2014-2015. ASSUMING his talent level translates over to the NHL. |

I don't get the dead horses/hidden truths stuff, I do enjoy, and often believe that introducing other ideas to be a healthy exercise here. At times it gets to be a bit of an echo chamber here...a mutual admiration society. And that is cool too. But From someone who does it here, and who accepts the wrath that comes with that, I don't ever cry or whine about it when someone gives me a two hander and unlike others, am the first to acknowledge when I am wrong or when I eventually catch up to what someone says.
I am assuming now that I am a sheep because I make a case for CC as a solid goalie? Anyways, I can tell you one thing, there are plenty of good seats still on the CC train, I can only imagine the rage that will overtake so many when he possibly accepts a Conn Smythe trophy after they win the cup. I wonder if it will ruin the whole cup experience. |

There is lots to see on youtube go fishing.
The Hawks will not undermine the present playoff run, by verifying the signing, but apparently was agreed to a few days ago. - wiz1901
That's what I think, too. It might not be wise to announce it now. But he keeps tweeting about making his decision |

As JJ and others point out, there is not doubt signing the new goalie adds much needed depth to the organization. Would be nice if the new guy could be like the Fasth guy for Anaheim last year.
To Emery's credit, he deserves a shot to have his own team next year and finish his mission to make it back as a number 1 goalie somewhere. If his body can handle it, would be more inspirational than what he has already done. |

Maybe I would need to do the Math
Bolland and Zus clear about 6 million and Oduya may go clearing 10 million in space
Depending on how many bargain basement kids from Rockford are ready I still think we can sign these guys but we will see
Draft day will be bigger than trade deadline day as the list of UFA's is far from strong this year - PEIHawkFan
Oduya has a motified NTC and I can't see them dealing him. They don't have a proven d men in the system to replace him....yet.
Bolland? Yes...he's replaceable with PROVEN NHL talent in Shaw or Kruger.
Stalberg...gone...They aren't going to pay him 2-3 million per year, which some stupid team will do, and I can't blame them for that. Throw in no production in the playoffs+his personal melt down with Q, and he's gone....and I'm sure you can get the same type of production from a Ben Smith next year, who unless he breaks something, will be on this team.
Leddy...they better be careful here. An offer sheet on Leddy, and you lose Bickell. I wish I could say I trust Baby Huey but we saw how he handled offer sheets after 2010...
If I were a betting man.....Bickell, Leddy, Kruger all stay. and may be the priority right now.
Handzus...maybe IF he takes a veteran type deal to try and win.
Gone: Emery, Bolland, Mayers (retired), Rozsival
They'll buy out Olesz and Montador ASAP. If they can get a 2nd round pick for Bolland, take it... |

He'll, Rantaa, maybe be starting opening night of 2014-15. Especially if he starts to push Crawford next year....
Kings down 2-0, just gotten beaten down pretty good, Quick got pulled, I expect a very low scoring game tomorrow night. Stay out of the box, and withstand the 1st, 10 minutes of what shoudl be fire and brimstone...and you have a chance. If not, pressure flips back to the Hawks to win game 4, and not go home with a series even....LA with all the momentum, and a goalie who steals games in his sleep.
That is why everyone getting giddy, needs to relax. Series is FAR from over. ...Hawks haven't seen the Kings best punch yet...its coming.... |
