Cuz' prior to his exile, he'd been looking like Vokoun did in the early part of Game 2...which landed him in ballcapville - philco28

Three defensemen? Oh, you meant a goalie.... They are down 2-0 in this series no matter who is in the net for them, even the great Quick. - mohel
Yes there D isn't the best but Fleury has been bad for two seasons now.....I don't think it would matter if he had the D in front of them. Against the Islanders most of those goals were softies.... |

Yep....or make a run at Halak. St Louis can get a lot in return. He had a falling out with Hitchcock so one would think he is gone.... |

I think the Isles are the upcoming team in the East....look at that system...loaded with talent. If they get a goal tender......look out. - UnnamedSource

remember when everyone complimented the GM from Pittsburgh and how they wished our GM would have the stones to make those moves......well there was one hole he didn't fill and he may not have the resources to get a goalie in the off season and if he does teams are going to make him overpay because the other 29 teams in the NHL now know the 1 thing the Pens need...... - UnnamedSource
Won't work that way for Shero. He made those trades at the deadline and still kept his best prospects. His problem will be in the next few years re-signing Malkin and Letang et al... If he sees it as a need he will shore it up maybe using one of those pieces he can't pay for. I could also see him signing an RFA like Rask.
Shero still deserved credit for decisively making his team better. Never know how they may gel or adapt to a new system. Murray was probably a mistake as they have been dressing him for Engelland? Vokoun looked like the one to stabilize their D picture. His deadline moves are looking bad. Looks like he rolled and lost. At least he rolled.
Really surprised at how badly that team plays defense. If they lose - it is on that coaching staff. Even the new pickups have been losing their men or floating - Morrow and Iginla should know better. No excuse for Crosby and Malkin flaking out in game 1 - particularly after the Flyers series last year.

Really? I HATE his system. They never pick up anyone in the neutral zone, never have a third guy high, let's Letang do whatever he wants. They give up more 3-2's than any team in the playoffs, they run an incredibly passive "zone" defense in their own end, which leads to guys finding pockets and being wide open. If the Hawks played like that I'd freaking hate it |
