I guy like Bernier coming in would be very nice to share reps with Enroth... but I think that Bernier becomes a 60 game starter.. and Enroth is not...
I am not saying I am ecstatic about Enroth/Hackett next year.. but bringing in Bernier will only cut down Enroth/Hackett's confidence. - JVince11
Ya, maybe...
But if Bernier turns into Miller,
And Hackett & Enroth turn into Biron and Norronen...
I'm ok with that
I'd love a 3-headed competition & see if one can separate themselves and become a true #1 goalie for us
If its just Enroth & Hackett, ok I guess... Let's see what they got?
I don't wanna bring in a vet though
I'd rather we sucked & got a higher pick |

I want to punch myself in the nuts for even saying this.... Ray Emery, Nabokov, Chris Mason, and Jason Labarbra are available too for a year contract. |

Girgensons should play in Rochester next season. Give him the year to play center at the pro level. Play him 9 NHL games late in the year if he deserves it. Let his contract slide. |

nope.... since Hockey season ended I have been mixing it up on Football websites... I had poked my head in around the NFL draft on here but with the draft coming up I needed to come back to get my daily dose of rumors and hockey talk. - JVince11
I hear ya, same with me. I drop in from time to time but been busy with the house and what not |

I think that Makarov has to come into conversation as well...
That right there could be a 3 headed monster that we don't have to trade a 1st for. Do we really want to add a 4th leg to that competition that we have a 1st rounder invested in? |

The other mason I wanted at the deadline for this reason if he got back to calder form great if not worth the risk
nabokov or any older guy would suffice if not be a good mentor to the kids |

I have heard that Giguere is doing a great job in that mentor role in Colorado...
I still would like to look into getting Hiller from Anaheim but I think I remember seeing that it was Hiller and NOT Vastch that started for them come playoffs.
Anyone else remember this?? Why did Hiller start over Vastch? |

You really think that highly of catenacci? From the little material that I have read about him is that he is basically Tyler Ennis V 2.0?
I am curious of who gets called up first... Girgensons or Larsson too... they both can basically play the same game.
I think Armia being in Buffalo is going to depend on if Stafford is still here and if Leino is healthy?? If Stafford/Leino are healthy they will play wing on the 2nd line... if they aren't here then I think Armia gets 2nd line duty. - JVince11
Yes, Catenacci took big strides last year
He maintained his scoring, while becoming MUCH more defensively responsible
Think a better scoring version of Helm or Ott
He's really fast & scrappy as hell
Low end, he's a MUCH faster version of Kaleta that has goal-scoring potential |

So I take it that no one here really thinks Buffalo either has a chance or will even try to get players such as Clowe, Clarkson, Horton, Morrow, Weiss, or Filppula? |

You are comparing Catenacci to Kaleta and Ott... our two best hitters??
Isn't Catenacci like 5'10 170 lbs? |

i dont think darcy would use words like "suffering" at the year end presser- then go get any of those players...
sounds like the plan is to add as many top prospects as possible, then deal them for guys that are better than the ones you listed (since no one will come here unless we overpay). |

Good point,
Makarov has looked as bad as he has good though
We really don't know how any of these guys turn out
We also have Ullmark who is playing in Sweden and higher rated than Makarov (by Sabresprospects.com)
If we get Bernier and he works out like I think,
Any of the other progressing is a great problem to have
Teams are always looking for a goalie
Any of them could be good trade bait at some point |

Just dropping the bait to lure the top players to Buffalo!! haha
I was just putting it out there because it appears that no one is even close to mentioning ... "oh yea.. we should offer a big contract to so-so to come fill in our need here and there" |
