I think we need a bit of toughness, but when I saw we out hit Boston, it told me 2 things. They had the puck on their sticks more, so we had no choice but to hit them, and we weren't playing our game. - thickman1178
IDK if you noticed but even when you guys hit them they came out with the puck. They are extremely strong on the puck. They are a great team not to take away from you guys but Boston is a big, bruising, skilled team with some good goaltending. |

Im not saying we aren't making it easy. If we had pucks squeaking across the goal line and were hitting posts like the other night, sure. But not only are we gift wrapping their goals, but we cant get anything going offensively. And that's because the Bruins are playing good D. - thickman1178
You only give credit to Boston's D. The goalie hasn't been challenged; our offense is a jok and our Defense is giving them opportunities. This is wa more Pittsburgh's ineptness than Boston's greatness. Sorry. I'm not sure you are watching the same game. It's a comedy of UNFORCED errors.

This is all on Pittsburgh and nothing Boston. Sorry - Oneonta Penguin
Pens should take a page from the Leafs book, basically zero stuff after the whistle, no agitating or even retaliating and just play the game whistle to whistle. IMO it's already too late though, the Bruins are a scary team when the other team gets sucked into playing an emotional, physical game.
Just my opinion though. |

Pens need to watch what the Blackhawks are doing with the Kings... the Kings are a similar team to the Bruins. Pens need to use their speed, skill and patience... dont bully the bully. Pens need to frustrate them with precision passing, forecheck possession and crafty skating. They do that, theyll throw Boston off their game. |

Of course you do . You have to respect them though. They have a pretty good blue print that I wouldn't mind if my team followed. |

Yup, I said the same thing to my friend a few minutes ago. We hit them they take it and come away with the puck. That's how they have been able to maintain pressure in our zone. |

oh no. but okay thats one. the first one, letang is once again no where near where he needs to be, and as much as it sucks to admit for him, a big error by Crosby. the second one, you can basically blame letang for consistently proving that all the physical tools in the world cant overcome an egregious lack of common sense. that goal should not happen. unless like i said, youre going to tell me that yeah its part of Bostons plan to convince letang to forgo the simple clear in favor of god knows what. the third one, bad defensive breakdowns once again, but some damn pretty passing by Boston as well. so tip of the cap there.
im much more willing to concede acknowledgment to their stellar defensive play however, as even the sutter goal was just a hell of a shot and not really indicative of any ownership of the flow of play. |

So capitalizing on every single turnover takes no skill? Last series, when the Pens had a bad play, they were able to recover. Same players. Same goalie (god please put Vokoun back in). Different result. I'm not saying the Pens haven't been awful; they have. But to give zero credit to Boston's ability to convert offensively is just insulting.
I still think they can win this. That 4th goal didn't help, but they're still the most offensively skilled team in the playoffs. If they can make this 4-2 after the 2nd, they have a shot. Any more turnovers, they're done. |

Its hard to challenge the goalie when all our shots are one off's from a rush and from the outside. Or we miss the net.
So yeah, their defense does deserve a lot of credit. Rask has been good, but hes beatable if we could get more than a chance here and there. Our horrid defense is why they are winning. Their good defense is why we aren't getting much chance to even it up? Make sense? Or are we really watching 2 different games? |

Long way to go still. If Penguins win the 2nd period they will have a punchers chance in the third.
They need to heed the advice of those that have posted about utilizing skill and speed. Unfortunately their d pairings tonight have so little ability to start the play the other way, especially with Letang playing so poorly. |

Boston is a tough, tenacious and patient team. if pittsburgh doesn't move the puck in the center of the ice and keep it along the boards they are (frank)ed. Boston is talented enough to make them pay for their mistakes.
Bylsma better waje up quick and get his team to make adjustments. |
