i dont know why iginla has just struggled so mightily even strength. every puck is just always in his feet - stayinthefnnet
He;s used to having to do it all himself, doesn't know how to support a more skilled player on his line |

What has bylsma seen out of iggy to keep him on the LW with malkin and not the RW with Sid |

i never understood that trade. i thought it was dumb when they made it, and it looks even worse now.
pens were already the highest scoring team in the league, had tons of chemistry up front, then they bring in a guy like iginla, who they're basically forced to put in the top six (even though he doesn't seem to have any real chemistry with anyone)
i thought those assets could have been better spent upgrading the defense, which clearly seemed to be a bigger area of concern.
not saying iggy isn't a good player, just that given what pitt had versus what they needed, the trade just didn't seem to make any sense. - sensarmy_11
Morrow was the crappier trade, we gave up a really good offensive D man prospect for him

4 straight shifts that they go offside.
It's like watching my wife play NHL 13. |

You are preaching to the choir. I hated the deal. Ask Chris. He has been awfully quiet. He was a strong proponent of that ridiculous deal.

Can we ship back Iggy to Calgary and get our first round pick back. He has been worthless. He is an easy non resign; same with Morrow; same with Murray - Oneonta Penguin
yeah. i was really excited about morrow for this kind of series. just doesnt seem to have it. i really dont see the need to prioritize any of these three |

i agree that pens paid too much, but atleast the trade (in terms of need) made more sense. i think it was always clear that morrow was going on to the 3rd line, to bring grit and leadership.
the pens already had 2 GREAT lines in the top six, with boat loads of chemistry, that the pens HAD to break up to fit iginla in.
it just didn't make sense to me.........it would have been like if ottawa, who had anderson, lehner, and bishop, traded for a goalie at the deadline. |

Two reasons.
1 We didn't give up a lot for the return
2 We kept him away from Boston

This game reminds of watching the Globetrotters against a team that's just there to get throttled and like it. |

Worst power play I've ever seen ... even worse than the ones we gave up a shortie on. No urgency, no heart |

for the same return, you could have had a guy like bouwmeester (or similar D), who would have been WAAAAYYYYY more useful to this team.
must my opinion |

Like somebody said earlier, its isn't Bylsma's fault Letang plays the puck up the middle, or Letang is so busy playing winger that Crosby is at the point. Yeah he can hold them accountable, but what do you do at this point? Bench someone like Letang when you need goals? |

Really? Have you seen his stats? Replace Jagr with Iginla and the bruins are even scarier. |

hahahaha. hey, Im not saying it worked out well. But the thinking at the time wasn't so bad. Not every trade works out like gold.
