god i miss it when this team had guys like guerin and scuds on it - stayinthefnnet
IMO Shero was basically trying to add guys like that when he acquired Iginla, Morrow, Murray, etc. I honestly thought that Iggy would really turn it on in the playoffs, haven't been impressed so far this series. |

Leafs started their series against Boston by using talentless bums like Kostka and Maclaren because of "grit". They inserted players who could make actual skilled hockey plays with Gardiner and MacArthur and should have won the series.
Bennett and Despres... |

Now Boston gets a ton of credit that period. Just completely shut down the pens in every way. Still no urgency from the pens. Sometimes I think if Bylsma wasn't there it wouldnt even matter. He seems like he doesn't do anything. |

I'm really not liking the Maple Leafs right now.

John don't you think the second goal could have also have been placed on letang he could have just tied up his man instead of flailing his stick in the air for the puck. - Genev21
Yes, but he needed a double for the cycle.
Kris Letang is certainly not without fault on that goal. His play seems to have carried over to Game 2 tonight, too. |

You have Murray, Letang, Orpik, Cooke, morrow, Kunitz, and dupuis consistently hit. No need for anymore grit |

I honestly don't know how someone could fail to give Boston credit. The reason the Penguins are making the goofy looking errors is because they are pressing. They are pressing because of the pristine neutral zone play by Boston. There is nowhere to go. |

Is that Kristi Swanson? She could play better D than Niskanen right now.

Mistakes.Mistakes and more mistakes. We started tonight with our captain and best player doing just that....Letang right after....Fleury/Cooke in the 4th...
I want leadership and enter the game with fire on this 3rd. We won't go anywhere playing anemic like this. |

All four of their goals were unforced errors. I give them tons of credit defensively. It stops there. |

You are giving them way too much credit. The only credit I give is their D. I can't give them any credit tonight in goal since he hasn't been tested and I can't give anything to Boston offensively due to the comedy of errors. Pittsburgh looks like a squirt house team tonight. I expect those errors from them. - Oneonta Penguin
This is just plain disrespectful. You make it seem like, as soon as a defensive breakdown or turnover occurs, you automatically have a goal against. Boston's offense is being opportunistic. Their forecheck is fantastic. You can turn the puck over every single time if the other team can't convert. They turned the puck over and had breakdowns against Ottawa, but the puck didn't always end up in the back of the net. Must have just been luck, huh? |

Pens could lose their first 2 home games in a row since the start of the season huh?
Its a sad excuse that makes no difference, but if this series doesn't wait 8 days, I don't think we play this crappy. Or maybe I just have my homer glasses on. |

What was the unforced error on the fourth one? Cant call bad goaltending an unforced error. Ill give you 3 of 4 though. |

The Bruins are a really good playoff team. They do, however, have a reputation for letting teams back in series. Pens need to be a lot better, though. |
