We can get back in the draft if Shero has the balls to deal Letang. Based on what I see, I'd do it. Not for Edmonton's garbage either. - Oneonta Penguin
The same guy you were touting as the 2nd best defenseman in the league a month or so ago? |

No they wouldn't. - Gunner Staal
i think they'd consider it, maybe add a couple of other assets on either side.
could be something there |

Kris Letang is starting to rnd his way into the Goligoski and Whitney dog house as far as I'm concerned. - Gunner Staal
Amen. How do you give that guy 7+ mil after watching so many mind numbing plays. |

I don't think Colorado does it. Then again, I don't think they are taking Seth Jones, which is a stupid move on their part. |

Boston's fifth goalie could do the same against Pittsburgh. Don't fool yourself. No heart, no fire, no compete level, no urgency. That sums it up. - Oneonta Penguin
Wow...you really are just refusing to give any credit to Boston's forechecking or any of the saves Rask made where the Pens actually had decent scoring chances (I've counted 6, not including the goal). That really is just disrespectful. Believe it or not, turnovers aren't automatic goals. Also, as MAF has showed us, easy saves can be goals. |

If you deal Letang the package has to include a defenseman that can play D and now. Physical, responsible. Someone like orpik 5 years ago. - schiefer466

letang to colorado for the 1st overall, take seth jones.
avs would probably do that deal too - sensarmy_11
Wouldn't make sense for them... Why try and acquire a d man where you have to pay him 8 million per for the next 8 years when you can have a guy for 3 for 3 years and then 5 mil for the next 5 most likely... Plus jones can grow with the team... Don't see it.
Edit: my tone isn't emphasizing that they're super young just moreso that Avs aren't a franchise that pays lots of dollars when they don't have to |

I've heard rumours and speculation, but can a Pens fan confirm that there is any truth to Letang and Pens management not having the greatest of relationship? Or is that all just made up?
If things continue down this road could Letang be had at the draft?
(Not speculating about the Leafs either, just a question) |

that's why i was thinking they might make the trade. they need D, but they're hesitant to take jones over mackinnon......just in case |

Malkin and letang for hank? - Slimtj100
You would seriously need to add something significant - Callahan and your next two firsts. Hank is great, but that is utterly ridiculous. I think Hank is a byproduct of the Rags defensive style - like Brodeur in NJ. Put either in Pittsburgh, they are significantly not as effective. |

Malkin and letang for hank? - Slimtj100
No. It's easier to find competent goaltending then replace a 2 time scoring champ/playoff MVP. And Hank is very much a product of a system. Still great. But on a team that doesnt play such a shot blocking collapsing D he wouldn't be the same. |

All five goals were on pittsburgh. Penguin mistakes - unforced. I give tremendous credit to Boston's defense. That is it. Sorry, I can't give any more. They played a team with little compete level, urgency and heart. Boston D and Pittsburgh D won this game for them, not Boston O. |

Why would they want to take on Letang's 6-7M salary instead of Jones entry level deal? |

Richards?
I was being facetious. Seriously tho, if you had lundqvist he'd win a cup there. Malkin is a liability in his own zone.
Malkin for hank is fair but neither team would pull the trigger i don't think |

Malkin is untradeable.
Letang can be had for Lundqvist. |

So you're saying that a team of me, my wife, my grandmother, and my 2 1-year old nephews could have scored all 5 goals if the Pens made those turnovers to us?
Also, can you tell me why Ottawa didn't bury the same turnovers on a consistent basis? |

Iginla.... No contract for you buddy... You look like a tweener learning to play hockey - nelson911
When we acquired Iginla I was more excited about him possibly resigning (for cheap) and playing here for 2 or 3 years, but it so clear he does not fit and he shouldnt even be offered a contract regardless of the cap hit
we need to get younger and faster on the wings, Beau Bennett is 82 games Top 6 next year.... |

No, he isn't. The smart play is Jones. Colorado DOESN'T need McKinnon nearly as much as Jones. Sakic is an idiot if he takes McKinnon over Jones.
