Agreed... although I did like MPS starting to get into scrums and going to the net midway and towards the end of last season... as for petrell - not sure wtf is wrong with him- plays on a hitting line- hits- but avoids that pest- aggressor role...

I absolutely hate that Maxim Lapierre knob...but he might help the Oilers on the 4th line. Too many tarded penalties though.

Got hurt, got sick,etc...we havent had a 100pt scorer at center since Doug Weight. I don't think it's fair to call RNH a bust after 1 sh!tty season. Plus legit 1C are pretty hard to come by...unless we want to tank again for the 1st overall in 2014.

I just have a feeling he has the potential of gretzky etc... but with today's NHL and his size and make up- he is one hit away from eating out of a blender... yes he is agile- but when the entire team is small- the hits that a center is forced to absorb day in and out... and with his injury history already- I am thinking he will be in tough unless his body alters by 20+ lbs...

Who cares? He's still better than Gagner, and his injury was a result of a freak accident, not due to a lack of size.
- Jeropotato

I'm aware. But he's still going to be small. It's not that he can't be a first line center I believe he can. He just won't be able to play a physical game. That's all I'm saying.

as long as the penalties did not have 'moreau-like'- timing the risk may be worth the reward...

PRV just needs to play that style of game everytime he steps onto the ice.
- mbxiphos1527

I think he was closer to being consistent with that part of his game- hence the results... I will say he sure as (frank) is a late bloomer...

I see him as one of the guys you truly build around. Get him the players that will help him out, rather than replace. I'm not saying he's better than Ebs or Yak, but it easier to find a top line winger with Jam than a playmaking C with elite level talent.Put him on a line with a savage cro-mag powerforward and his size becomes less an issue.

I completely agree... If he had a Backes type or Lucic- someone to physically make space... combined with a Hall type that makes space with speed- your right that has the makings of a killer line...

I think the Oilers are gonna acquire Lucic.

I read that somewhere

Well idk. Trade one of the two. I just don't want Yak to be traded. Even if it is for Backes and Pietrangelo.
- mbxiphos1527

That is just a ridiculous comment. I would take Pietrangelo alone for Yak, let alone throw in Backes. That is so one sided in our favor its not even funny.

That was kinda the point. No Oiler is untouchable. If a trade like that landed on Mac T's lap he would have no choice but to pull the trigger.

This... although I think Petrell with a little more passion could go a long way- something like MPS- alot more nasty would make either unstoppable in those roles!
- saskoil21

Petrell has to learn how to skate and and control the puck and play defense before he would be deemed unstoppable.

First you guys were talking about trading Eberle, now it's RNH! You all need a 'fab 5 across the eyes.'

It's frustrating watching a small Brad Marchand have the balls to drive to the net the way he does.

Exactly. I'm fine with Backes and he'd be good for pretty much everything. Especially grinding in corners. I'm just one of those people who don't like to let go you know?

For sure, not impossible, but it's fairly outrageous. I'm always on the lookout for a more outrageous Cloutier quote, but I find he's been making more sense than usual lately.
