I hope he comes out with that fire at the start of the season next year. I'm hoping this past playoff experience ignites a couple of these guys from the get go next season - Vukota

Some speculation by Dreger that if the Pens lose in 4-5 games, and they will, Malkin could possibly become tradeable. Also saying KHL would offer him $15 mil per season to come home.
Now, what would you offer to put him on a wing with JT?

we all know that he WONT be traded, but considering we are best 3+ weeks away from anything remotely fun isles-related happening, why not just play along? |

I think he is a UFA after next season. If you look at next years UFA class, it might be one of the best ever. |

Strome, Moulson, Reinhart, 1st rounder..and I'm not even sure that would get it done. |

Yeah but 90% of those guys are going to be re-signed. There's approximately zero chance that guys like the Sedins, Lundqvist, Datsyuk, Malkin, Kessel, and Bergeron hit the open market. They'll all be locked up.
Still has potential to be a good class if guys like Heatley, Hemsky and Vanek hit the market. |

I'd think Hamonic and Strome would be a must just to get the conversation started. Best prospect and a good young d-man that specializes in an area where they really need help...in their own zone. Then you'd still have to add the first rounder and probably a good forward already on the roster...Grabner or KO. It'd be a hefty price.

Isles are not Opening the wallet for a Foward and totally agree with Garth on that. If we spend money it will be on Dman or Goalie.
Streit got offered even money and contract to Viz and turned down. We all agree here, Viz is better.
Let me get you guys prepared from now. Boyes is resigning. I dont see how you think he terrible. He outplayed Moulson in playoffs and in the last 20 games of season. Do you guys want to get rid of MOULSON as well. b/c if you say yes, then i totally dont have any problem with not signing moulson. Both Benefit from Tavares bigtime.
If you ask me, without Tavares, Moulson wouldnt get 15 goals on a full season.

Boyes is gone because he sucked all year. not just a specific stretch.
Moulson was bad, I cant argue that, but it is an anomaly to his greater body of work.. he gets a pass.. because he deserves it, he has earned it.
If he shows again this season that his play is on the down slide then I'll talk about replacing him at the deadline or next off season... but like i said the 2 players could not be any different, MM bad for a hand full of games over 4 seasons... Boyes bad for his whole time here.

Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
As for other #Isles potential UFAs, Brad Boyes unlikely to return but still talking, and Evgeni Nabokov very likely to be back before 7/5.
