No surprise. He will get good money on the open market from a team with a terrible power play, but the depth on "D" to have Streit play bottom pair minutes. the Isles can't afford to pay Streit $4M or $5M per year to be a bottom pair d-man.
Overall, i'm happy with Streit's time as an Isle. He played well in the beginning of the deal, tapered off towards the end. Handled himself with class the entire time he was here. Best of luck to him.

My sense is #Isles will go to camp with Nabokov/Poulin/Nilsson as goalies and Matt Donovan most likely D-man to fill Streit's roster spot.

As in 'unexpected'? No....but I couldn't discount the possibility that one side would gave enough to bring him back. We all know too well, that nothing's over til' it's over around here.

no no no...its definitely news that they arent going to resign him...it shouldnt be news that youre the only one that sees it as a good thing; i, along with others have wanted him gone since last years deadline...
Hamonic's deal should be pretty long and pricey. Our cap situation may even cause us to overspend a bit.

I'm really curious how Bailey's contract negotiation is going to play out. Snow wants long term from what Staple is saying but I have a feeling it will wind up being another 1 or 2 year thing bcs I'm not expecting them to agree on the sum per yr.
