Makes him look less guilty that way...
That being said, I doubt he was trying to hurt Keith, same as Keith's stupid swing. - wolfhounds
Carter was guilty regardless of that. He instigated the retaliation from Keith with a Richard move. He deserved to get whacked. Just not in the face. Unfortunately, the stick got away from Keith. |

He has been. Unfortunately, Letang hasn't been invisible, his play has been noticeably bad. - Jsaquella
Crosby has had turnovers this series that have resulted in goals. |

Ok but we all know letang is a pure offensive damn... Something this team needs and is really going to Ned once kimmo retires - Philly1980
Sure. But he's going to be paid like a Weber or Pietrangelo, who are all around defensemen.
If they could get Letang for Yandle or Edler money, sign me right up. |

The Flyers would get murdered. |

You're right, he's not on the level of Weber or Pietrangelo.

Haha I think we would see Mason before the end of game 1.
Boston really makes teams pay for turnovers. |

Carle getting 5.5... 7 isn't that much for letang. If weber were to go to ufa this year you know he would get close to 9. Another guy who didnt have a good year: weber. |

Weber, Suter, Doughty, and Campbell have Cap hits 7M or higher.

That was my point all along. He's not elite. He's gonna be paid like he is, and the team that signs him will be disappointed if they think he's going to be a Weber, Pietrangelo or Doughty type guy.
He has elite offensive ability, but he makes too many mistakes in his own end to justify the kind of commitment he'll get from somebody. |

$5.5mm is too much for Carle, and $7mm is too much for Letang.
Weber's a far better all around defenseman than Letang. He's also got a monster deal that, with the new cap recapture penalties, I am ecstatic that Nashville matched. |

Letang should get at least 6.5M
His style of play is what the NHL defenseman are becoming. |

I think he is elite. He's a finalist for the Norris. I think he's much better defensively then you're giving him credit for. He's not a shutdown guy like a Weber is. But he's normally solid. If he only get's 7M a year, they got him at a good number.

Seems like most teams need one puck moving offensive defenseman. |

According to you it is and I agree...our opinions don't drive the market up, NHL gms do. They will pay 7 for letang. 7.8 is a steals or weber. I'm sure they ll get more buyouts from the next cba lol |

Mike Green was a Norris finalist. The biggest issue is that he has lapses and sometimes makes mind numbingly bad decisions in his own end. Everyone has brain farts, for Letang they happen more than they should with an elite defensemen. |

The Pens would like to sign him but they have Crosby and Malkin. Not sure they have the cap space to keep three guys at that price (7M and up). |
