No idea. It's all super secret. If we find out her name or see pictures of her fighting with a sword she'll be forcibly expelled from the Cabal she works at.

My monsters are wonderful but seriously aging now. The shepherds are 13 and have some medical issues. One greyhound isn't doing so well...
Love them to tears though.
And yes he is.... HA! |

You and your friends hid. Didn't want your souls captured that first year. Look how young my kid is... that was like 4 years ago. |

We used to. It's a shame it ended after just a few. I always had a good time. We had a big one, then it got a little bigger then it was just a handful of us.
It's a shame that a lot of those people were either banned on soured on this site. There were a couple golden years of insanity on here. |

Just caught up...clearly the highlight of the thread are the pics of (not)Grace.
As for the rest of it...
Keith/Carter drama - meh. To hell with both of them.
As I've said before, no thanks on Streit. Too much money, too old, too one-dimensional. Granted, it is a dimension in which we need to improve, but I really hope we don't take the approach of bringing in over 35 guys to get there. I'd rather just stand pat.
Part of that is because I still thing at least 50% or more of the Flyers puck moving problems are caused by the forwards. So even if we got a great puck mover, he's not singlehandedly going to fix that issue. Which makes me even less willing to risk an over-35 deal on an aging, declining, undersized Streit.
As for McBain, I'd be willing to give him a shot, but certainly not willing to trade Grossmann (or any of our established d-men) for him. I personally feel Grossmann's overall game is a bit underrated. He's no world class puck mover for sure, but I don't think he's as bad as some on here seem to be implying. And I love his physical game. With Schenn on the top pair, and Grossmann on the second, we actually have two d-men the other teams will actually worry about. We haven't had that kind of physical presence on D in a long, long time imo. So, no, I wouldn't trade Grossmann for someone as far in the doghouse as McBain. I would trade a prospect or a late round pick, or even both.
Still, even if we got McBain, it seems like the only spot in the lineup for him would be Gus' spot on the third pair. And I'd rather have Gus there and see what he can do. Right now I feel better about his play (it's on the upswing), than I do about McBain's. |

NO on Streit, while I watched the Isle's alot recently in the playoffs, the Flyers need to get out of the mold of over paying for a "name" who is on the backside of a solid career. While the defense is a glaring issue on the flyers, its not so much the 6 guys who have "D" next to their name, the flyers team defense was atrocious, and the injuries and shortened season didn't allow for the practice time young players need to work on such adjustments.
Streit is 35, is just coming off missing an entire year for injury, we don't need another injury prone D-man, we have plenty. I think while there are not alot of options for a Dman out there to sign, the flyers have some flexibility in the prospects department, they have stock piled assets in the form of young forwards, it may be time to liquidate a few of them to get yourself one or two dmen.
Its a shame that Mezz cant stay healthy, i for one am a huge fan of his play when he is healthy, hopefully he can have a bounce back year
As far as drafting a forward in the first round, the more i read and research on Frederick Gauthier the more I think he will develop into a solid 2nd line 2-way center to put on the ice after the G line - PhillyTruth
That's what we want out of Couturier, no? |

Not interested in Streit at all.
Can you imagine a line of Rinaldo-Courturier-Domi?
Could wreak havoc and put the puck in the back of the net. |

Your wingers would be quite a bit undersized on that line even if they're tough. Couturier isn't old enough yet to use what size he has to effect. Could be interesting to look at if Domi drops to our second pick. I don't really want to take him at 11. |

I think that's the key. Gustafsson is on the upswing. And I agree. I would not trade Grossmann for someone like McBain. Many want the Flyers to practice patience with younger players. Well I think they've done that with Gustafsson. Now it's time to see if any rewards are coming for that.
I agree that the Flyers forwards need to do a better job. Pretty much all of the Flyers current defenseman can make the routine plays. But they need to upgrade the puck movement. So that this team spends less time in it's own end. And gives more opportunities to the forwards offensively. Instead of always having to fight to get the puck back. It's a possession game.
I also think the Coaching staff needs to do a better job with the breakout schemes. I watch other teams that are playing now. They're not afraid to use the middle of the ice. Teams now a days, really clog up the boards, and defenseman stay in at the blueline. Flyers are constantly rimming the puck into 50/50 puck battles. Make short quick high percentage passes on a center breakout. And a forward can skate the puck out more often, then headman to the breaking forward. I watch LA and Chicago doing it all game long to alleviate pressure. That will help the defenseman with less puck moving skills to get out of trouble. But they still need at least 1 if not 2, high minute puck movers to truly become a top team. Those players control the puck, and control the flow of the game. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Streit, Shinkaruk vs. Domi - bmeltzer
This was a great blog and I agree with you completely. It was sad to see Streit go but I don't think he's worth 5.5 mil per year. I don't see him being able to help the flyers as much as he helped the Isles. I don't think Streit will be in a flyers jersey next year |

Personally, I would take Horvat over either of them, but all 3 are going to be very good players. I would be willing to offer Streit 2 years, but if the cap hit is any higher than 4.5 mil max, I'm not interested. - BiggE
I'd take Pulock and Horvat over both. |

Kind of absurd that many of the same folks that so readily condemn the Flyers for their failure to develop defensemen now want them to rush out and acquire players like McBain that would (barring injury to another d-man) stand in the way of Gus' continued development and playing time. Can't have your cake and eat it too people. If you want to develop defensemen, you need to let them play and let their confidence and experience grow.
If we're getting a true, top-tier puck mover, then that's another story. But I don't want to see them shelve Gus to make room for someone else's reclamation project. |
