So.... Miller, Ennis and the 16th pick for Evgeni, then?

It could be the best thing that could happen to your team... I look at it this way... both Crosby and Malkin elevate their game when the other is out. Both are rare talents, but there is no doubting Crosby being a lifetime Pen...
I said a few seasons back that Malkin (straight up) for Weber would make me poop my pants as a Flyers fan. Having the best forward and best d-man in the world on one team isnt fair. And honestly.. having a pairing of Letang and Weber is just downright scary.
If that trade doesnt float yinz boat... hows about dis... Malkin and a first to Stl for Shattenkirk, Stewart and (gotta say it just because lol) Jake Allen?
Idk, I think you guys could address several areas by trading Malkin.. The possibilities are nearly endless..
On another note... I think Malkin has a lower body injury that we will find out about very soon... He hasnt looked very strong of late. Its a shame too. |

It's been reported a while back that his shoulder is hurt and he will need surgery in the off season.
But I disagree with your notion that Crosby and Malkin elevate their game when each other is out. The stats just don't support that.
While the proposed Blues trade is appealing for the players, it's nonsensical. The main reason that you'd trade Malkin is because of cap reasons, but Shattenkirk and Stewart together are probably going to make more than Malkin will per year (at least next season), and you'd still have to go out and find a good 2nd line center which will cost $4-5 million-ish. |

Kris Letang has been on the ice for more goals against than any other player in the post season.
The next three players on that list are also Penguins (Malkin, Neal & Iginla). |

It was definitely the most entertaining hockey game I've seen in a while... except for that last shot. |

It's amazing how prevalent that theory is to outsiders... The only way Malkin isn't signed long term over the summer is if he doesn't want to be a Penguin and from what I've read, he loves playing here. TIOPS reported that the negotiation is expected to be as amicable as Crosby's. Malkin has the same agent too. |

Im not speaking statistically, and I certainly wont claim to know more about this than you guys, but from my outsider perspective, Malkin is much harder to play against when Crosby is out and vice versa.
I think its about carrying the team... or maybe i am able to just focus on one of them more when the other is out. Idk.

This off-season will be the most entertaining season of any kind they have had in a while. Malkin will stay. It will be interesting to see what happens with Letang, MAF, and Bylsma. |

I know for certain that I am not the only Flyers fan that feels that way... hell my whole mens league team thinks the idea of trading Malkin is extremely unsettling from our perspective. |

Tough loss, but that was a great game. At 3-0, this is probably over, but I think if the Pens could somehow win Game 4 the Bruins might quickly start feeling the pressure given their history.
Did anyone here mention the Duncan Keith incident/suspension ? I know it's the playoffs and you hate to suspend a key player for a significant part of a series, but that warranted multiple games IMO. |

I dont think blowing that 3-0 lead against the Flyers is even remotely prevalent. Thats a few years, and a Stanley Cup win ago.
I think that Shahahanahahan actually got this one right. It was careless and definitely malicious, but I dont believe he meant to hit him in the face... You could tell as soon as it happened. Id say 2 games at most... Now if he had squared up and two hand chopped him in the face i would have said at least ten, but he kinda flung the stick.. idk |

And by amicable, it will go like this:
Shero: How much do you want?
Agent: $x over 8 years
Shero: ummm... ok.
Malkin and Crosby do have different agents, but they both work out of the same agency (CAA).

Bylsma, Fleury, Niskanen, Glass....maybe Letang...they all can go. Let's see what we can get for them.
Murray, Cooke, Dupuis stay......Morrow or Iginla: pick one for a reasonable price.
It's hard to say that..Letang is one of my favourite players on this team but we have to move on and think team first. |

I agree... Those are the 3 story lines. It's widely reported management and ownership love Bylsma. Whether you like him or hate him, it can't be argued that he hasn't been given the talent to win in the post season. Like I said earlier, I think the team could use a fresh set of eyes.

Agreed. One of the best games I have seen in a while. Marchand and Rask have cemented themselves as the 2013 versions of Cammalleri and Halak. |

Statistically, theoretically, aesthetically, however you break it down, it has no merit.
Malkin and Crosby were #1 and #2 in playoff scoring in 2009, Malkin won the Conn Smythe with Crosby in the lineup. How does that line of thinking not die on the spot right there. |

Not to mention they already moved Staal. Crosby's injury history makes moving Malkin the least palatable option of all available moves. |
