Wow... Nice moves Kane.
Better save Quick. Of course, he made it harder on himself by laying down for the shot... |

Until the end of the season, the team was horrible at scoring goal 5 on 5. Hopefully it is only an aberration. I just thought I saw a little too much of Coots with vaunted scoring wingers Rinaldo, Knuble, Rosehill, and Hill. Maybe it was just me because I'm such a fan of Coots. - ravishingone
I can't think of another player, seen as a future cornerstone of a franchise, that has been given less help in his first couple of NHL seasons as Couturier, in terms of playing time with exceptional players. |

The Flyers were an awful 5 on 5 team last year. Really need to improve the puck movement from the defense, as that was one of the biggest reasons why. Along with some poor Coaching decisions such as what you describe with Couturier and who he played with.

The only possible scenario I can think of is maybe Lava was giving Coots "tough love" to try and get more out of him. However, they were so bad at 5 on 5 scoring, I just didn't understand he wasn't in the shuffle when Lava moved forwards around.
Kind of unusual to see 4th line centers untouchable. |

Same tough love Lavi showed Bobs?
I vote that Lavi has some blind spots and/or is inept in certain developmental situations. |

I would agree that is a fair criticism of Lava. |

I wouldn't mind them taking a flyer on raffi torres. guys a Richard but he's a strong skater and a big hitter for a low price tag. (if not Torres then a guy like stalberg if affordable, maybe penner to play the LW). Buy out briere...
Hartsy-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Coots-Simmonds
Torres-Laughton-Read
McGinn-Talbot-Rinaldo
Rosehill
keep the d the same and pray they get healthy.
Grossmann-Coburn
Timonen-Schenn
Meszaros-Gus
(Gervais,MAB,Manning)
keep bryz one more season and have Mason challenge for the spot...
Bryz
Mason
lastly keep the 11th and the other picks and use them to continue stocking the system.... continue to develop prospects like ghost, cousins, alt, lauridsen, etc.... work on resigning G, schenn, coots, read during the season. worry about replacing kimmo and mez next offseason.

If Schenn converted to LW he should probably be playing with G and Jake. As someone said before, Schenn and Jake have good chemistry. Hartnell should play with Simmonds. They are 2 of the best power forwards in the league, and when combined with Coots who's no softy himself, it could make for one of the, if not the grittiest scoring line in the league. Hartsy and Simmer are reasons A and B that our power play was so successful this year. |

I personally would keep Hartnell with Giroux and Voracek. And Schenn on the 2nd line. I wouldn't put Hartnell and Simmonds together.

It sure makes the Carter discussion we had after Buzzgate I pale by comparison. |
