interesting rant on Twitter by Evander Kane... wouldn't mind the penguins looking into him. - SuperHenderson13
Letang for E.Kane straight up would work for me. He's the type of winger anybody would want.
To make myself clear, If we re-sign Letang for $6M or less, I'd rather keep him. |

I don't hate him, but that doesn't mean you have just suggested a trade that is in line with the player values. |

If we have to trade him Kane would be a nice return. You have to be certain a few of these guys in the system are going to develop quickly and be able to produce offensively. This is a win now team. Letangs mental mistakes this series have been hard to watch particularly because he hasn't produced any points to cover them up. I'm sure Shero will mention this during negotiations. |

Hopefully we'll re-sign Letang for $6M max...that would put an end to all of this. |

Nothing is solved until the Penguins have a #1 D man who consistently plays like a #1 D man. |

I know what you mean Gunner. He'll need to fix some of his bad tendencies for sure but he's pretty good. Hopefully he'll rebound back from this lackluster outing against the Bruins so far (and the playoffs in general).
I'm sure he'll find a way to get out of your Whitney/Gogo List. |

GREAT article about Alain Vigneault as coach. Guy seems like he's better than Bylsma, but isn't perfect. still looking at the various candidates open, but based on this article, I wouldn't be mad if we hired AV.

Interesting that two of the "cons" listed for Vigneault are the two things that Bylsma gets bashed on here for on an almost daily basis (being tactically stubborn, and treatment of young talent). |

We all know that the Pens are going to win the next two, just to get our hopes up and then crush our dreams by getting pasted in game 6, right? |

I think they will play well. But that doesn't guarantee victory, much like Game 3. |

Out of curiosity, who does Letang usually partner with? Or does it change somewhat regularly? |

Constantly changing I believe I saw him out there this series alone with eaton, niskanen, and Martin. |

At times in the past few years it has been Orpik (not as good as you would think).
Eaton has been a calming presence for him at times.
Niskanen (tire fire).
Despres (good at times).
My opinion is that if you are the alpha dog, it shouldnt matter, figure it out, make it work. |

I didn't think the shot total was any indication of how they played. They launched a lot of shots from outside with no traffic in front and not many rebound opportunities. Rask has been outstanding but he's been seeing most of the shots put on him. Pens IMO just wouldn't commit to taking the abuse and getting to those spots |

For the money he'll get next summer, I agree he should be a catalyst for his pairing. But in a market that's starved for true #1 defensemen, I do wonder if he could become that kind of consistent player with the right partner.
He definitely has to be better than he's been in these playoffs, at least on the defensive side of the puck. Was it you on twitter I saw pointing out he's been on the ice for all but one goal against? |

Hated enemy's opinion: I thought they played damn well. The Bruins played well too, and the Pens shouldn't have let themselves be put in a position to go down 0-3, but they played a damn good game the other day. |
