You didn't think they played well last game? - canadianpenfan
I thought they played well in certain areas. Just don't think firing a bunch of shots a goalie can see is as threatining as the stats might lead you to believe.
That said it was a very entertaining game had a lot of chances. I just think Rask has been to good to not get to the net and try and get dirty goals. Maybe I'm missing it but I can't recall a lot of occasions where I saw a shot get to him with Pens sweaters in front trying to bang home rebounds. |

It speaks to the problem going down 0-2 in the series. In the isolation of Game 3, they played well, Bruins did too. Thats why you cant give away games like they did in Pittsburgh |

I thought the same thing. We took many shots from the outside and didn't get many rebounds. We need 'em. Score dirty goals is very important. Boston have done their homework and got a few.
Regardless of that, I thought we were better than the Bruins last game. |

Giving up the early goal has been deflating. And you are absolutely correct playing the way they did early especially in game 2 is why they are in this predicament. I give Boston all of the credit in the world. They have executed their plan very well. I'm upset and I deserve to be we have 2 guys we pay 9 mil a year to be great in situations like this and they haven't even showed up on the score sheet. Yes Malkin shot the puck 21 times but he wasn't good enough. Sid was great on face offs but not good enough. |

I think you need more from both. Malkin's line on the ice for both goals the other night. He turned it over to Jagr. Sid I don't recall ever seeing him play this poorly. |

Malkin has opened up the neutral zone unlike any player on the roster can. That is the Bruins #1 strength. |

Can't ignore the turnover or the delay of game penalty. I'm not debating he has been our best player but he can do better. We haven't won a game yet and he hasn't scored either. |

Deryk Engelland gets more blame on the turnover you are talking about than Malkin. Engelland and his total lack of puck skills collected the puck and just mashed it off the glass immediately. No poise, no decision making. Just turn and mash. |

Pens need to score on pp
Pens need to stop dumping and chasing
Pens need to help clear the garbage in front of the net (enter MD3 pic)
Pens need to stop passing so much and get puck on net as well as have someone in front of Rask at all times... he is always giving rebounds to slot area
I will be happy with 3 out of 4 of those things as well as Bylsma not be outcoached
and my vote is Tocchet for coach with a more pssive team guy for asst.

I won't debate you on Engelland I don't know why he continues to get a jersey but that's a different story. My point is the money those 2 make you expect to win. It's not happening and they aren't producing results. |

Its a team game. They need to both have points but Malkin's line was at least controlling the flow and creating. |

Have you seen their management? They have a GM with no power (Sherman), a figure head with zero management/personnel experience (Sakic), and rookie egocentric coach who is going to play GM on the side (Roy). Anything is possible. - rival22
The other problem with the AVs is their owner cares more about the Nuggets than hockey, all his resources are for the NBA. Hockey is an after thought unfortuantly. Well not for me, AVs tiks are dirt cheap and the Pepsi Center is nice.
What about Granato as a head coach? Just a thought.
How has Hamhuis done in VAN? Would he have helped at all if Shero could have gotten him to sign? |

NH, the funny thing is that you shouldn't see any of those forwards lines on the ice tonight. I liked what I saw last game. 24-71-18 should remain together. Sid's line need to be A LOT better....we need goals....somehow I can see a 3-2 or 4-3 game tonight. |

Play the best guys, its the only way to do things. Age/experience need not apply. Bennett has been very good in every single game he has played, every one of them. He is not a liability. But he's young so...
What is his weakness at this point? The knock was supposedly his body frame wouldnt be ready for NHL action, does anybody feel that way anymore? |

Bennett made a play in the first when he took the puck from the corner to the net and got a chance. I thought to myself, great play but why is the rookie the only one doing it? |

I thought the same thing. Very slick play and he tends to make those types of plays in every game. Not to mention he is more physical then one would think with his thin frame. Very intelligent player and one of the mistakes DB has made this off season |

I don't, sir. he's definitely bulked up and his stick handling and decision making is pretty good. He's calm out there. Almost forgot: his skating has improved A LOT... |

Because our experient players aren't too keen about getting hammered in front of the net? That's the only way I see it. Morrow is the only one getting hammered constantly there. We need more. Crash the f'n net and see how it goes. |
