I agree with your point to an extent, but BOS and LA has proved that you can win a cup by having an entire roster of solid players. I would be looking to add on lines 1-4. - sbroads24
They win because they have the right style of players for their system, along with 2 forward lines full of 1a talent. The Sabres forwards only have a few players who would fit that style of play (Ott, Foligno, Tropp, Kaleta) and Vanek would be our only player who would play on either of their top 2 lines. |

hes lacking that "untouchable" quality... - battelmt
Don't know the source but I remember that they were trying HARD to find suitors a year or two ago b/c of his drinking issues/maturity issues. |

Buyout Olesz too? I dont think its as bad as you guys think. There is plenty of young talent that is replaceable as well as decent peices to move.
That said, I wouldnt be opposed to trading Kane for someone like Lucic. Obivously wouldnt be straight up (i dont think Boston would move Lucic for anything really) but IF there was a nice package put together that would benefit both teams i wouldnt be heartbroken to see Kane go. And again, i dont see anything like that happening, just having fun - BlazinMike
Lucic will be getting a big contract soon dont see the fit |

Me too. They got a lot of young guys some NHL experience and they played really well. Hopefully that benefits them when they're ready to compete in 2-3 years. - jmatchett383

If Gretzky can be traded, any player can be traded.
The primary consideration in the Gretzky trade was the millions of dollars that came Edmonton's way in exchange; the team was BROKE!
That being said, WC scoring champ or not, his poor playoff performance to date would likely kill most of the fan backlash that might otherwise have come by way of his being traded.

Not saying it's likely, but it has been discussed elsewhere as well. I get that you hate Garth, but bring it up with the contact us link, please. |

He still has more points than the team Captain yet nobody is picking on Toews' low offensive output which was averaging a point a game in the regular season and now less than half a point per game in the post season. Seems a bit peculiar to me, yet all the fingers are being pointed in Kanes direction. - MnGump
I notice Toews on the ice. Kane is nowhere to be seen. |

first of all Paille was drafted in the 1st round. i can understand your disappointment on that but he's a 4th line energy guy on the B's and our top penalty killer. you couldn't use that? draft status aside? and yes Peverley was average but i guess only in terms of statistics. he's perfect on the third line. plays hard and grinds every shift and has the ability to score 15-20 goals. difference maker? no but what 3rd liner is? as for Seidenberg and Horton we'll just give you a mulligan on that. He's our number two defenseman and an absolute beast. 2nd on the Bruins in ice time behind Chara and getting him back was part of this run we've gone on. difference maker? yes. Horton is 2nd in the NHL in playoff scoring and was key to our 2011 Cup run. He's been huge for us. the Bruins have way more skill than you give them credit for. that and they all to a man buy into the idea of protecting the D zone first. - Fountain-San
I look forward to a Kings Bruins match up. The two real champions head to head. Both physical, big teams. |

against a physical team like the kings he can be neutralized pretty easily but that opens up ice for other players. that helps his team.
kane will never carry a team by himself- but on a deep team he is extremely valuable. |

Garth,
Have you ever heard of John Mcdonough ? He is the Hawks President who is the brains behind the marketing campaign, that have Toews and Kane jerseys all over the United Center. Toews and Kane commercials all over the airwaves. Add the fact that Kane lived with GM Stan Bowman in his rookie year and Stan's kids love Kane, there is absolutely no way the Hawks will trade Kane. The only chance you'll see Kane trade place with anybody in Buffalo is when he's at Mickey Rats and Captain Kids this summer. |
