I also think Reinhart will not be ready. I'm hoping by next year he will make the team. - ses111
Reinhart will be ready b/c De Haan will be out with season ending injury again before the first game.
Reinhart is capable.
Amac - Hamonic
Viz - Hickey
Carkner - Donovan/Reinhart or DeHaan
Even hickeys spot will have to be early. Do their are 2 spots to earn in this lineup. Also Carkner cant play 82 games. so somone else will fill in.
Isles will be already better next year b/c Reasoner is gone.
Suprise Boyes not staying but im totally ok with that.
Bailey JT Nino
Moulson Strome KO
Grabner Nielson Ullstrom
Martin Cizikas McDonald

I don't think Bailey is a first liner. I feel he does his best work on a checking line with Nielsen and Okposo. Maybe have Strome with Grabner and Ulstrom playing third line minutes to start the season. We'll know better when camp starts. |

I would also like to see what Nino can do on a line with JT. You never say never and if Nino is moved it has to be for a big piece the Isles do not have. It's going to be interesting to see who goes and who stays.
- ses111
Not sure Nino will compliment well with JT. Put two puck carrying forwards on the same line and one of them is waiting around for the other to "do his thing" and not necessairly getting to the open spot. Also, JT does a lot of work in the corners & behind the net. Moulson & PA are good at that. Haven't seen Nino's corner/behind net game much but JT is gonna dictate the play in the zone. You don't want two players trying to play the same role. |

That's sort of the point...you don't want JT stuck in the corners all the time. The book on him was always how deadly he was from the circles in. We don't get to see that Tavares much because he's forced to be everything and anything on his line...he's the only one that comes back to play at least some form of D (albeit not that well yet), he's the one who carries the puck up ice, he's the one who grinds in the corners, the one who takes the puck to the net, the playmaker, and many times the finisher as well. The other guys are just sort of there to sometimes take advantage of everyone else covering Tavares. Anyone you put on that line that will actually draw attention away from Tavares will perform some Tavares' current functions, freeing him up from always having to do everything.
I think Nino, if he pans out in the NHL, could be ideal on that line. He's a strong kid that loves to take the puck right to the net. That kind of commotion is going to draw a lot of attention and free up space for Tavares. As for "puck carrying"...not really sure about that through the neutral zone. Tavares would still be the guy carrying the puck up the ice more often than not...Nino's game really starts once the puck is in the zone. He's come a long way with how he plays along the boards...at the beginning of the AHL season I would have said he was mostly just a front-of-the-net presence with good hands. Later on, as his skating and balance improved, he was able to use his strength to fight along the boards and curl toward the middle to put himself into good shooting areas.

I don't think they're going to change the colors or logo. They will maybe update the logo, but the crux if it will remain as us, I think. A simple change of maybe just having. More modern "NY" like the logo has now with an updated Long Island including Bklyn, remoce the word "islanders" and the circle and that would look cool. |

I can't possibly imagine that Edmonton wants anything to do with Streit when they have an elite offensive defenseman in J. Schultz.
I'd also take Hemsky 10/10 over Boyes. - eichiefs9
Hemsky is an elite player... When he wants to be
Problem is, that's about 5 minutes a game |

Hemsky isn't the type of player that's going to drive possession and carry the play. But considering nobody Tavares has yet to play with is, he would be a serious upgrade over his other RW's. |

Hopefully eating ill-prepared blowfish. It can be fatal....or put you to sleep for a very long time. |
