I'd still take Doughty, because he's closer to what they are missing in Pronger. He can do it all. I wouldn't say no to Voynov, either, but Doughty's the more well rounded of the two, despite Voynov's outstanding playoff production. - Jsaquella
For now... In a few years I sees a changing in the guard. |

Considering both are 23 years of age, it's not reasonable to expect Voynov to suddenly surpass a declining Doughty |

Kings brought doughty up early. Let voynov mature longer ( there's a concept right) doughty has more NHL experience. For now anyways. |

Doughty was more ready than Voynov. Doesn't mean that Doughty will decline sooner. He's also just as likely as Voynov to become an even better player over the next few years, my point was they're the same age and both likely to get better than they are now. |

I hope not. You end up over-paying in either salary or assets for a player if the tea doesn't match and then you have to waste 7 days in the summer's busy season waiting and can't do much to address needs. - Jsaquella
A worthwhile risk IMO
You obviously offer sheet him after FA has started and have been able to adress any other needs that would otherwise be hindered by a week long offer sheet. |

I'd still look for another route...not eager to trade multiple 1xst rounders for Bogosian-and then pay him so much money that Winnipeg walked away from all the time and effort they spent developing him. |

I think Skip might find it easier to talk hockey prospects than to talk market saturation, opportunity cost, revenue streams, and profit margins.

Is there a 7 day window where teams can talk to pending ufas this year or does that start next summer? |

Now that's something I want Homer to get away from, using an asset to speak with an UFA before the free agency period. I think you are just giving more leverage to the agent in negotiating a deal. I'm just not a big fan of the tactic. |

ethics should have no place in business. - Philly1980
errr, welcome to the reason for the current state of the American economy.
Ethics, aka Right and Wrong, should be (and is, whether you realize it or not) part of every interaction. The only problem is, most American corporations have no problem doing what would universally be considered 'wrong' so long as they make a profit or save money doing it.
