The only way I see him staying is if Crosby says so. I think he has a ton of juice with the Pens org. and his opinion matters. Granted, we wouldn't know either way why he stayed. But just a thought. I think he should go to. 2 goals scored in the ECF, 0 points from Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Iginla, Letang and Morrow. - GirouxForTheShow
I hope he stays. |

Loved his cross-check after he got up. It was his own teammate, whose fall caused Rask to lose his stick. A sequence of insanity. - Flyskippy
Right! I had to watch that a few times to notice it. I wonder if that was the same player who booted Chara in the head? And at one time there were 3 or 4 Bruins on the ice around the crease...bodies friggin everywhere.

Truly ugly meaning pretty funny or...? |

I think it's safe to say that Shero's best move for the Pens playoff race was signing Vokoun. And considering how much he gave up for Murray, Morrow, and Iginla, that's pretty terrible. |

I wouldn't say elite. I'll leave elite for chara weber even karlsson. Dmen that can control and change game everynight. Doughty allstar? Absolutely. Tier below the elite? That's where I'd put him. With the likes of say Keith. Do I see doughty or voynov becoming elite? Probably not. Doughty went through many growing pains his 1st few years in league and has only come into his own the last few. At this stage in their NHL careers so far in their development I would say voynov is further ahead Than doughty was. That's why I say if they were to progress at same level voynov has a slight higher ceiling. Maybe I'm wrong. Time will tell but I'd love to get hiS a$$ in Philly and watch and find out - SMS4016
Doughty absolutely is elite. And Doughty scored 59 points in his 2nd NHL Season. Voynov is not farther ahead at this point of his development, then Doughty was at the same point. Doughty was a finalist for the Norris Trophy in his 2nd NHL Season I believe.

Ok fine doughty 1st season wasn't that good. Second season pretty good. Next 3 not much improvement from 2nd season. MOre consistsnt yes. Elite ? Guess we will have to agree to disagree. Maybe I consider elite differently. I don't think doughty dominates at anything. Not scoring passing defenDing maybe hitting. Very good all around but to be elite I think you have to be able to dominate in at least one area on a nightly basis. If you look at doughty/voyNov first 100 games in league voynov is better overall. Not so up and down. Idk maybe I'm just jealous and blinded because we never get dmen prospects like those 2. Must be nice. |

The GM did a good job putting all the pieces together. The players failed to play to their potential. The coach is the biggest loser in this defeat. I expect him to be fired but will see what happens. |

Looks like Torts and Bylsma gone, yet Lava stays. I'm just curious to see how much Malkin resigns for, I would be surprised if he takes the hometown discount again. A cap hit of at least $8.7 million isn't cheap, but if Corey Perry gets $8.6 millon/yr, what is Malkin worth? |

Malkin gets 8.7 or he gets dealt. Those are the two options.

I can already see him screaming at a completely disinterested Malkin. |

Its not outside the realm of possibility. Especially after seeing the way the Pens implode when a team plays them physical and gets in their faces.
It starts from the Captain on down the line.
Crosby and Tortorella would be an interesting dynamic to say the least. The team seems to follow Crosby's lead when he gets frustrated, taking bad penalties, losing their tempers, running around looking for hits.
Do they need a coach who goes off the handle just like this team seems to, or do they need a steady even keel coach again. |

Its a weird situation for me, but I'd probably trade Malkin at this draft.
Crosby will always be the #1, but I have never seen a guy take so much punishment. He constantly gets hacked, and thrown on his ass. They need to be a meaner team next year.
Malkin does help take the pressure off of Sid but with the defensive game/inconsistency concerns I would send him off.
Florida would probably be willing to make a deal. |

They would be crying all season long. I do kind of think Torts would be good for Pittsburgh they need some of that attitude, and a kick in the ass. On the other hand they, like the Flyers are built from the forwards down. Weak in goaltending and D.
The style Torts plays will expose them, and Crosby will be on the IR in a month. |
