Iginla is playing on the right, Bennett on the left - Gunner Staal
That would make sense and that is what I would want because Iginla sucks on the LW (and Bennett played there last game), but the game day skate report said that Iginla was on the LW. It's possible that they incorrectly reported it. |

Does Adams have scratching immunity in his deal, great pk but other than that he doesn't bring Jokinen's skills. I would go with skill in this game, even on the 4th line. |

Yup, I just read another report, and that one confirmed Iginla is on the RW |

I'd leave Cooke on the 3rd line and have Bennett play with the second line, but hey, that's just me. |

This isn't the pre lockout days. Big bodied isnt good enough, body position is everything, he is too slow to maintain that. Simon Despres is the future of a successful "big bodied" d man. - Gunner Staal
My only issue with this is that the argument cant be made that Murray is that much slower than some of the guys on Boston who are successfully shutting down the highest scoring playoff team of the last 20+ yrs. Not too mention the fact that I havent had many issues with Murray's play compared to a much more mobile guy in Niskanen(not saying much but still holds water).
In my mind, it depends on the coach. If Bylsma is retained, then keeping anybody beyond Jokinen is in the air. New coach, new system that doesnt emphasize activating the D as much, and I think Murray can play on this team. |

I kinda think this will work out with Cooke on line 2. He's played well there in the past and might be able to create some space for Geno and Nealer...as well as he has shown he can set-up goals with his work down low and on the boards.
Bennett on 3 gives that line some speed/skill.
Overall it makes 3 lines that could score.
Anything that could potentially work should be tried at this point!

Question for the real Pens fans here:
Who do you want to re-sign out of the 3 trade acquisitions?
(Morrow, Murray, Iginla)
And what do you want to do with Jokinen? - Coburns_Nose
Personally I'd want to see Murray and Iginla back (for low prices)
..but talk to me after the series are over. I might re-think. |

I don't disagree that perhaps Letang might be playing better with Despres as his partner, but I do have a problem with the #1 D man's success being predicated on who he is playing with. - Gunner Staal
100% agree, but it seems like Bylsma keeps changing his partners from Martin, Niskanen, and Eaton and then Letang feels that he has to do more at both ends. Instead of #sidneedsawinger, it's becoming #letangneedsapartner. Martin and Orpik have showed a bit of chemistry and Id like to see Letang find a bit of that with someone and just stick with it. Stop changing it |

But Cooke brings a tough forecheck to that line. When it was 12-71-18, it seemed like no one wanted to forecheck and by the time someone decided to, it was half ass and the other team got it out with ease. Although I have noticed Bennett start to beef up and take the body more often. |

good point. also, i think that bylsma's thought process is that kuntiz malkin neal worked out so well last year (and cooke plays a similar style of play as kuni) |

I really think he's needed just for the leadership on the team. He will be a GREAT mentor for the D prospects, especially Harrington if he is our future shutdown guy. 3 years from now (if Letang doesn't demand the world) I'd like to see Letang-Despres Orpik-Harrington Pouliot-Maatta. |

He does. Not quite as good with the puck, but Cooke and Kunitz definitely share that same mentality of "skate as fast as I can to the puck, and if someone else touches it, hit him" |

Thanks
The Orpik/Martin duo is the best we have. We should re-sign him for a couple more years at least.
I don't get what's the problem with Murray. He brought us a steady defensive presence in front of the net. 245 pounds and a team Sweeden player. Keeper |

Cooke is a very underated player. I really like his game. The guy has speed, forechecks, has an adequate stickhandling for a 3rd liner and can score occasionally.
Cooke, Orpik, Dupuis should be re-signed.
Morrow would be good for Glass' price. Iginla for anything less than $3M-3.5. Murray for sure. |

One thing I've noticed these playoffs is you don't need to be big and physical to win. You need to be quick, smart, and play the body at the right time rather than going for a big hit and getting out of position |

True...but he's a keeper for the right price. He can play on this roster any day. This series hasn't been his best. Boston is playing very smart putting pucks behind our D and using the boards as much as they can to keep puck possession. |

Claude Julien is quite simply out coaching Dan Bylsma
And unfortunately, unless Dan makes the appropriate adjustments, we don't have a chance to come back and win this series.
All I keep hearing from our players is that "we need to play our game better" which to me is not a good sign |

Agree 100%. The Pens have significantly out hit the B's and look where that's got them. Count me in the group that doesn't want any of the rentals back, especially if Disco returns......which I think he will.

Pretty much a trend the last couple of playoff seasons. I firmly believe Capuano fed Disco his ass too, but the Isle ultimately wasn't talented enough. |

I don't agree with bylsma being outcoached, howler I still want a more defensively minded coach next year, the penguins first game they played well initially and they could have scored like 5 goals but were getting robbed by rask or hitting the post. The second game yes they laid an egg and the third game the bruins got a fluky first goal that was enough to get an overtime. The penguins also hit many posts that game. The team just isn't getting the bounces that are needed in the playoffs. |
