4 things Pittsburgh should consider this offseason:
1. Keep Disco Dan
I do feel he is at fault for lack of adjustment, but with a bona fide goalie controversy and gutless effort from the skaters in the 1st and 3rd rounds, he should get one more post season chance.
2. Somehow get Rob Scuderi - honestly I would take a Letang for Scuderi in a heartbeat
3. Blow this team up, sort of.
This group has proven they cannot win when the game is on the line, gotta break em up. I would say trade Malkin or Letang or even both. I love the idea of Malkin and Letang for Rinne and Weber. Probably would never happen
4. Buyout Fleury - no need for explanation - SolomonFuggski
Please do not let any if this happen = |

Bylsma maintains that they used Iginla properly. That stubbornness could be detrimental to his status. |

Interesting...
Bylsma said Bennett and Despres are top 6 and top 4 guys right now. If that's the case why weren't either playing every game?
He also said Vokoun won't have a shot next year at what he was doing in playoffs because Fleury will be winning big games in the playoffs.
He's not usually so...robust with his statements. He's uneasy and he has a right to be. |

What can he say.... we got all these acquisitions that have to be played. He knows Bennett and Despres are full time players next year. |

Bennett and TK may have been on somewhat of a see-saw. That's one thing. Despres not getting out of the press box because of Engelland or Niskanen? That's just ridiculous. |

This and your comment about Bylsma saying Despres and Bennett are top4/top6 guys just proves how dumb Bylsma is. I would personally like to see Iggy stay only if a new coach is brought in. Seems like Bylsma was blinded by Iggys past success and assumed he would fit next to Malkin. After that didn't work, he still forced it until the very last game |

Shero needs to trade Nisk and Engelland just for the sake of Despres playing next year. If Despres is a healthy scratch at all next year with Bylsma still coaching... well then there's nothing I can really do but be pissed off more than in was this year at him |
|
|
|
to me, Bylsma sounded like a guy who is backed into a corner... he is trying to say the right things and sound like he has a plan for next season.
according to TIOPS, Tippett is "intrigued" by the penguins coaching job. Will says that if Tippett wants to come here, Lemieux will push for him strongly. that could be the difference.
now... im predicting the penguins score as many goals in game 5 tonight as they did in games 1 and 4.

I think it's unbelievable how Martin played after a poopty 11-12 season, then came back to be our best defenseman in the regular season and playoffs while having an injury. If he keeps it up, dump Letang and keep Martin at his current hit. |

That wouldn't upset me. Especially when you consider that the 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd round in this years draft are empty for the team this draft.

That's been my thought since the season started. Moving Letang and promoting one of the young guys(Harrington, Maatta or Dumoulin) while giving Despres top 4 duties would be a big move. Martin and Orpik were tremendous together. I keep them where they are. |

Canadianpenfan will like to hear this I think
@MikeColligan: Dupuis on taking a discount to stay in Pitt: "I've done it before. We'll see what happens this time around but I'd love to be back here." |

But when I said this at the time of the trade I was ridiculed and I don't remember who it was said that I will se how good morrow is for the team when they raise the cup. - Genev21
I wasn't on board either. I watched a lot of Dallas games this year and I could see he was pretty much done. He was playing 4th line minutes down there. I think it will come back to bite us... |

Bylsma also sounded like a guy that fully expects to be back. There's not a doubt in my mind that if Dan and Ray weren't such good friends, Dan would be sent packing this week. |

He was fine in a 4th line role. Another guy misused. Didn't go to the net enough. And we seriously overpaid for him. |

Send Bylsma packing and bring in a new coach and maybe 1 or 2 additions. I'd like to see another speedy forechecker join the team. A guy who gives it his all every shift like Cooke or dupuis. |

I keep Dan until next season and let him go if the team doesn't look on fire from the start. only exception for me is Tippett... he solves so many issues including Fluery... he would make Fluery the next Brodeur |
