Which one would everyone prefer?

I want Schenn.

- DrChristianTroy

Schenn is a lil more ready, but depending on how the NHL is going to call the game, Couturier is bigger and more suited to todays game......

Couterier is cheaper at this time. I think Schenn is more dominant
- VANTEL

Schenn has a lot more sandpaper to his game as well as having good offensive abilities.

Serious question for Canuck brothers: What do you Canucks need to get back to cup finals?

What do they need? Who are keepers? Who can they afford to move? For what price?

Are they taking a step back ?

They need more than one player. They need a couple of people who can put in 30+ and some sandpaper players. Look how Lucic is dominating the Pens . We don't have that.

Potentially, we do have that player if somehow the new coach can motivate Kassian, who, IMO, is better than Lucic if he can put it together....

We need a true #1 d-man and a 2nd line center (move Kesler to the wing) and a hulking 3rd line center....

Edler for Schenn
Sign Bryan Bickell
Get Colorados 1st overall pick somehow - do it MG - dammit!! and draft Seth Jones or better yet trade for Eric Johnson and groom him slowly (Tanev, Jensen and our 1st?)

I like Burrows but he has a NTC to kick in coming July 1 st and he is getting old. This team has way to many NTCs
- VANTEL

NTCs are not that big of an issue.

Most players don't want to play on a team that doesn't want them.

Luongo is a special case because there aren't that many suitors who can take his contract, so that eliminates a number of options right there.

For Burrows it wouldn't be an issue, since it likely wouldn't be a young, rebuilding, bottom feeder trading for him anyway.

Still, an upcoming NTC is a horrible reason to trade a player by itself.

The Canucks won't get offers for Burrows that will make it worth trading him.

Pipe dreams are nice, aren't they?

The first scenario seems reasonable. The other two are unfortunately the stuff of magical pixies and unicorns that fart rainbows.

Lastly, no way Chicago lets Bickell go (not after the play-offs he's having)

Well then I'd take Schenn, for the reasons Ian wrote about in this blog.

Schenn for me as well, but would still be happy with Couturier.

Yeah, what this team needs is the guy who lost the Flyers leadership core & implemented "dry island"

John Stevens shouldn't even be a candidate.

- DrChristianTroy

If you had a team full of Shane O Briens (Richards, Carter) implementing "dry island" might not be a bad idea!

Stevens has done amazing things with Doughty (who had sort of lost his way, sound familiar - Edler) Voynov, Muzzin.

Not saying he's my choice, just saying he sounds like the guy they want.

I think Burrows true trade value wont be for 3 or 4 years. Could get a 1st or very good prospect from a team on a cup run.

You know he's 33 right? Just getting ready to start a 4 year contract? Barring some return to 30 goal form. his value is likely at its highest right now. And it's not a 1st rounder.

Agreed . But most Canuck fans hate to let go. Even getting rid of Mason Raymond last years topics led to some epic arguements here

Personally I don't think he'll be traded, but, if he is, this is and always has been my preferred deal.

He just turned 32 in April. Meaning he'll be 32 all of next season.
