Canuck fans have been talking about trading him for 3 years. Leaf fans are the same. - djamon
Most fan bases do overvalue their players. |

I think Burrows true trade value wont be for 3 or 4 years. Could get a 1st or very good prospect from a team on a cup run. - A_SteamingLombardi
I don't think any team will offer a 1st or even a prospect good enough to make it worth trading Burrows. |

That contract scares me - VANTEL
He does it all, if he was allowed (under AV) to play on the PP he'd have even better stats. Kills penalties, great defensively, good team guy...I'm happy to have him. I could use less of his BS antics, but he's seemed to have cut that part of his game out.
He'll be 35 in the final year of his deal with a 3 million dollar salary, no big deal. |

I think Burrows is the perfect 3rd liner down the road........hell knows he wont get traded at his price tag when he's 35.... - chompsey
Scooby said it best Burrows was great at 2 mil not so great at 4.5 Mil. He has earned it but it will hurt the Canucks going forward. I don't like having a 4.5 mil guy on the third line unless you have a great draft pick on the second line playing for 2 mil for the next few years. |

You scare easily
Burrows is still very good at 4.5 million. |

I love Burrows but the contract still scares me after next year. I am waiting for the bottom to fall (being the optomist that I am ) |

We will see after next year when it will be too late if it does fail. |

Burrows is still great at 4.5.
I question the judgement of anyone that watches him regularly and disagrees.
Might not be in four years, but you cross that bridge when you come to it.
I have a feeling he'll still be contributing enough at the end of his contract to earn his salary—plus the cap will likely go up. |

The thing is, there are always at least a few signs that a player is trending down. I have yet to see any with respect to Burrows' play. I think he'll be fine for the next few years, minimum. |

And like you noted earlier, there is no way we would get a decent enough return for him to justify trading him. |

Why will it be too late?
Players waive their NTCs all the time. You're making too big of an issue out of this.
And it's not like it will be a rebuilding team that will try to trade for him in the future.
It'll be a good team looking for veteran help to make a push for the cup—why would he not waive.
Any scenario where the Canucks entertain trading him will likely mean their not contenders.
I personally hope he retires a Canuck. |

We often disagree. I think half his contract will be ok and half we will regret like we have done in the past with Naslunds Bemitras Samuelssons and many of the older players that we reward with late contracts. |

I do. The final year of all those contracts most people were here saying those players come off the books next year. That is why none of them were extended past . |
