There's some big assumptions you just made. When I said package, I meant it. Meszaros is a complimentary piece, far from the main return. I doubt it would just be Edler for Schenn or Couturier straight up. More likely Edler & pick or prospect for Couturier & Meszaros. Or you could go crazy and see what would happen if you threw Luongo into the mix.

The Canucks also need a right shooting D man, and if they trade Edler and get rid of Ballard (which seems to be the consensus, they will need 1 more top 6 D. And if 2 of their top 6 are Tanev and Corrado then they'll likely be looking for a veteran. A right shooting veteran with offensive upside who is strong defensively. Someone like Meszaros...

I can't find it in the BC Liquor Store system, it's imported by Carlsberg, it might be a SPEC, which means that private stores can order it. If I find it I'll send you a PM.

My research consists of actually seeing/scouting & liking the games of players I want acquired... not looking at their stats page to see what hand they shoot.

PS, I didn't have to look up that Meszaros shoots LH. I've seen him play plenty of times, and I wouldn't acquire him for that cap hit or actual salary.

I'd rather him be at a lower cap hit too if they were to pick him up, but the general point remains. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Canucks pick up a D-man from Philly IF they were to trade Edler there. Philly still has too many of them and unless the Canucks were to keep Ballard they would need to replace Edler. We've seen what free agent D will cost. Only way Gillis is getting in there is if he can get someone willing to take a paycut to have a shot at winning in Vancouver. Doubt that happens.

I'm not sure Philly has "too many" defencemen. There are 8 roster players under contract next season, one of which is Pronger, another is Timonen who is in the final year of his contract. I could see the Flyers trying to move Timonen. Maybe they have guys in the AHL that are ready to make the jump, I have no idea really.
