It's pretty obvious troll fodder.
Edit - Aaron Miller was as much a part of the core as Bieksa - 1970vintage
I'm not a troll just because I registered 10 days ago. I've been visiting this site for years. Settle down...it's OK for someone to have a different opinion than you. I live in Victoria and have watched the Canucks closely for a long time. I ain't making this sh-- up.
It's amazing the semantics and minutiae you folks will argue. I saw you guys female doging about Gillis mercilessly a month ago. Now someone else comes in and says the same things and all Hell breaks loose.

With Eakins seemingly close to a deal with the Edmonton Oilers, where does Michael D. Gillis go now? Is Gulutzan the guy, or does Gillis move towards a motivator like Boucher? |

Clearly, would that mean Komisarek is part of the Leafs core???? - chompsey
Under what criteria? The fact that he's never had more than 16 minutes/game or the fact that he currently plays for the Marlies? |

Hamhuis was an excellent addition. Garrison? Not so much. Terrible signing. Garrison should send Brian Campbell a Chriistmas card for helping him get that contract. - djamon
Garrison was their best all round defenceman last year. He was the most consistent of the group and AV never have him proper PP time, which is where he excels. He is a great signing. |

Are you kidding?
Garrison was the Canucks best D this season, and not by a small margin. Clearly you didn't watch too many games.
Excellent signing. - Fosco

It's been speculated with much gusto by the media that John Stevens is the man.....
I'm certain that djamon will be in shortly to contradict that..... |

My worry, as someone who does root for the Canucks, is that Gillis will wait too long as he's apparently done here. His patience, while a good thing at times, could be a huge problem in this hiring process. |

I'm asking you....by your criteria, you merely have to be on the roster for a number of years, hurt or otherwise..... |

I watched most of them. he was much better late in the year, but it took him a while to get there. And I thought he was always awful in his own zone.
I stand by it...it was a terrible signing. They didn't need any more 4.5m defensemen. - djamon
He took about 10 games to adjust to the different system. You are wrong about everything else. |

I have no idea. But as soon as he interviews another 5 or 6 guys I'm sure he'll have a better idea.

I'm all for due diligence over expedience.
If he misses out on Eakins fine. Not the end of the world missing out on a rookie NHL coach. |

Oh don't worry. There's no core any longer. Gillis de-cored this team...he can hire whoever he wants. |

Gulutzan is a very good coach, that said, so is Willie Desjardins. Botchford is screaming bloody murder that it's John Stevens, who knows??? |

There goes Eakins(great fit for Edmonton IMO). I wonder if MG's patience will hurt him yet again and he might have to end up settling for the 2nd or 3rd guy on his list with Dallas and the Rangers hiring as well.

Gulutzan didn't really do much in Dallas. I like Willie Desjardins though. (frank) no to John Stevens. |
