Just seems odd that a Leaf fan, so recently registered, would spend so much time arguing in a Canuck blog. You are entitled to your opinion, but when you try and pass off your opinion as fact, you will get called out every time. - 1970vintage
I go where the interesting convos are. It happens to be in here most of the time. I probably know more about the Canucks than I do the Leafs since I've been out here since '93.
All any of us have is our opinions. Even you. |

I understand Bowness already has a job, and AV will soon.
Man, some poor NHL management teams out there, giving bad coaches jobs so quick. - Mattjd123
Tampa's picking Top 3 again. What an awesome management team. |

As much as everyone always disagrees with me, I'll continue to say that Boucher is a good fit for the Canucks. I get that I'm biased, but I do want the Canucks to succeed. Boucher is a motivator and, based on what I've seen from the Canucks core over the last two playoff years, that's exactly what the team needs. - Michael_Stuart
Why wouldn't you want the Canucks to succeed? I'd like to see the Lightning succeed, infact the only teams I really dislike are the Flames and Pens. The Canucks and Lightning have no rivalry, they have no history of playing each other.
We do not want Boucher's boring brand of hockey here, that's not what Gillis wants either IMO. |

Tampa's in the middle of a rebuild. I'm not sure what you expect. Give it two more seasons and then start judging what that management team has been able to do. The organization is a lot better off now than it was when Yzerman took over. |

There are much better ways to get cap relief than trading a valuable player like Burrows! - LeftCoaster
I like Burrows but he has a NTC to kick in coming July 1 st and he is getting old. This team has way to many NTCs |

Well, if I was a Flames fan I probably wouldn't want the Canucks to succeed. I like the Canucks. That's all I'm saying. Boucher doesn't play a boring brand of hockey. As a fan, I was never bored. Watching that one clip from the Philly game doesn't really do his game justice. He's a risk taker; it can be frustrating, but mighty entertaining. |

With Eakins seemingly close to a deal with the Edmonton Oilers, where does Michael D. Gillis go now? Is Gulutzan the guy, or does Gillis move towards a motivator like Boucher? - Michael_Stuart

Garrison was the Canucks best D this season, and not by a small margin. Clearly you didn't watch too many games.

Maybe he's waiting to see what Tippett does. He'd be the best option, IMO for the Canucks. He's done wonders for the offensively challenged Coyotes. I don't think the two teams are that different anymore. |

Why the Pens? - djamon
I'm old "ish", born in the 60's. During the 80's when the Nucks had some awful years the Flyers always seemed to be in the mix of things. 74 & 75 Cups, 1980 finals, 1985 finals, 1987 finals, just love their brand of hockey. Second favorite team.
Pens and Flyers don't mix! |

He's not a fan of younger players, not a good fit! |

He did plenty what he had. I like everything I've heard him say.
- doesn't believe in excessive line juggling (beyond a search for guys who click) because he understands how important chemistry/continuity/familiarity/trust are on the ice
- he himself was a center who played with leadership & grit... knows what it takes to win... had vision & understands hockey IQ/which skillsets work together (something AV & Bowness will NEVER understand)
- flexible enough to use what he's given to its highest potential... What you saw in Dallas won't be what you see in Vancouver with the pieces available to him - DrChristianTroy
Hire AV
Re-sign Rick Bowness
Give a raise to Newell Brown

Sorry guys... I know it's easy to be a lazy fan & run with the only names you recognize or let Botchford tell you what to think... But that's not my style. |

I disagree, he had a 64-57-9 record with a pretty unspectacular team, what does he have to do to please you? Jim Nill came in and wanted his own guy, nothing wrong with that. - LeftCoaster
Well, I stand corrected by you and DCT. I assumed his record was worse. |

I personally wouldn't go with Stevens, so I'm not listening to Botchford. I've been as off the board as anyone with Boucher. I like Desjardins, too. |
