I must say that I am certanly liking MacT as a GM so far. no wussyfooting around. |
|
|
|
As long as Hall, Yakupov, RNH, O.Klefbom and J.Schultz are staying in edmonton I'm ok with whatever MacT decides. Preferably would also love to hang onto the number seven pick to get one of Nurse, Monahan, Lindholm or Nichushkin but I'll leave that up to MacTavish. |

I don't see him trying for those guys. Brayden Schenn or Sean Courturier would be excellent additions that I could see MacT. going after. |

Changing topics, Hawks and Bruins cup final. What can I say? Bruins have got this. While the Hawks looked beatable during the playoffs, the Bruins have not. It should be an epic series any way you slice it. - Maxbone
I wouldn't be so sure... Remember, the Leafs came within 1 shot from eliminating the Bruins... The Hawks just eliminated the defending Stanley Cup Champions in 5 games. I wouldn't count the Hawks out just yet, RC. |

a little late but from the last thread:
mcdonagh won't be traded for anyone on your team in a 1 on 1 trade. this kid is gonna win the norris one day.
only people i consider trading mcdonagh for are named crosby, karlsson, and patrick kane.
as for contracts...f gonchar's deal. mcdonagh will sign for about 35-38 million for 8 years. don't doubt sather when it comes to trades or signing RFAs. when the rick nash trade was announced it was going through, everybody invaded the rangers thread saying it was gonna be stepan or mdz or hagelin or girardi or staal or callahan or kreider in the deal and none of them were. when mdz's contract extension was announced, people said he was gonna be signed for over 4 mil a season because of john carlson's contract or some other dude's contract that was over 4 mil but he was only signed for 2.5 mil.
marc staal is a legit #1 defender and was the rangers best defenseman before his concussion and regained that form right before the eye injury. he'll be back at that level by the all-star break and is exactly what you guys need: a physical, mobile, tough, 2-way defenseman that excels in the defensive aspect of the game, can eat up minutes, and is starting to really add good offense to his game. he's just entering his peak, has already been an allstar, and was the rangers #1 defenseman successfully for years before mcdonagh and girardi's emergence and probably would still be if it wasn't for the injuries. |

MacT is gonna make the decision whether u like it or not. The oilers dont need another 7th overall guy that wont play for a few years. they need help today. Grit, someone that will go to the net cause they have 10 forwards that wont! |

Plus, everyone knows the East is the Junior Circuit. Hawks will skate circles around the Bruins. |

Idk about Couturier... Drafts never seem to go in the order we think so the odds that one of the 'super six' sliding down is very possible so if they arent one of them isnt there I wouldnt mind trading for Couturier. To me he doesnt seem like he'll pan out that well but we'll see |

couturier is gonna be a star in this league for more than a decade. kid is 19, plays like a 10 year old vet, and is potentially the steal of that draft. |

I have a very hard time seeing Philly trading Couturier for a player who may (or may not) help them 3+ years down the road. Very few defencemen make the jump and can contribute at all before they're 21 or older. Seems like a great fit for Edmonton, poor fit for Philly. Too much risk, too long till they get any return (if they get any). |

Ill take couturier. Sign a couple bottom six centres like a lapierre or Gordon. Then when rnh is back, send gagner and a 2014 first for a good young defenseman. |
