curious how bad i get torn apart for saying I wasn't that impressed with weber the few times I saw him play this year.
im not sayin he's not elite and a total beast, but I really think suter allowed him to be so much more effective at the things he does well. not only that, but some of webers skill set is the flashy, crowd pleasing things that are so much easier to notice (huge hitter, retarded shot) while suters skill set has so many more intangibles.
I kinda thought this before, but im starting to be convinced that it's suter who's the better of the two. and always was.

It sounds like firing Kruger wasn't the original plan, and somewhere along the road, MacTavish figured out that he had the inside track on Dallas Eakins. It's the only explanation for the sudden firing and quick hire of a guy that interviewed with multiple teams. |

Suter also has 10X the talent at the forward positions than Weber. If Shea had Parise and Heatley out there...teams could not key on him like they currently do. There are no scary players on the ice with Weber at any time. |

mcdonagh > letang as an overall defenseman bro. |

if you take contracts into account and depending on what mcdonagh signs for; I think there might be a few gm's who'd stay away from webers contract in favour of ryan - hugefemale dog77
Both are perennial Norris trophy Candidates. The cream of the crop. You make room for those contracts if you can get the player. |

And people still doubt Sather? - Jeropotato
I don't. Him and Chiarelli I feel are the 2 best GM's in the league. |

hard to argue after the bruins series but I'd still take Letang hands down everyday and trice on sundays... |

sather certainly has his flaws (UFA signings) but he has a knack for fixing his mistakes extremely well. |

maybe....I love weber. I wasn't hating, he's a beast.
but regardless of teammates, I sorta always thought suter was better. they're different players of course, but I think weber missed suter way more than the other way around |

I think he didn't want to lose him to Vancouver after he had his 2nd interview there. |

mcdonagh > letang as an overall defenseman bro. - rangerdanger94
debateable. maybe though. i'm a big fan of mcdonagh actually. very solid. mighta overlooked him abit when I made that list
but I think letangs defensive deficiencies are abit exaggerated though. hes an offensive guy first of course, but he plays pk and a lot of tough minutes too. he's an adequate defender at least, combined with being an elite skater and offensive talent. |

I think the stupid UFA contracts are more him listening to ownership to throw large amounts of money around for marketing purposes than his own ineptness |
