Bruins for the Sweep!!

Bruins are going to beat them so hard, Quenneville's going to have to shave his stache and start a one-man town named after himself on an island in the NW Territories just to escape the shame.

In somewhat related news, I've taken to calling Crawford "Asstender of the year." Never seen a goalie wind up facing the wrong the direction more while trying to make a save. I've played the position and have been studying goalie mechanics for a long while now, and I honestly don't know how the (frank) he's getting the job done (half the time it doesn't look like there's any intent or awareness happening there.)

What the....? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Q has a cup with the Avs as an assistant.

Since then, as a head coach, he's been to 4 conference title games and won 2, has 1 cup with one undecided.

And you say he'll feel "shame" if he loses to a damn good Boston club? Yeah...ok.

If Q's coaching career continues at this pace I'm sure he'll be ashamed to accept entry into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Dissent...you are a clown.

As for your assessment of Crawford?...How does the rubber nose and size 46 loafers feel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Blackhawk fan but have no clue how this series will end, and I'm not arrogant enough to guess.

As for you, step on in to the clown car, there's plenty of room for more 10' midgets such as yourself.

Worst thing is, one of my favorite teams in the West is Chicago, now for 2 weeks I need to learn how to HATE them lol

This is gonna be a war, of epic proportions... I am pumped.

Hawks are a scary team, but I think a lot of ppl still underestimate the "team aspect" the Bruins possess. No massive stars that blow you away but a collective group that works their A$$es off every single shift.

I am hoping for a long series, would love to see B's in 6 so they can win it at the TD (seeing they won it in Van City last time) but this series is too close to call for me

I think this describes the Hawks as well. 4 strong lines that work hard shift in and shift out. 2 defences that are different but equally effective. Balanced scoring. Very good goaltending. Both Penalty kills are outstanding and both powerplays not so much.

In my mind it comes down to the intangibles and the Hawks have those going away, home ice advantage, better jerseys and a far better anthem singer.

Does nobody remember the last time the Hawks and Bruins played? I want to say toward the end of the season a couple of years ago. Hawks took the worst beating I have ever seen them take. They got pummeled and female dog slapped the whole game and lost 3 or 4 to nothing and the score should have been a lot worse. Are the two teams that much different than two years ago?

Congrats on beating the Kings. Neither team had a chance against Boston. They are just firing on all cylinders since the game 7 win in the first round. You will probably give them a little more fight than the Penguins.

Boston is going to steam roll the Hawks.. For Boston this will be like fishing in a barrel.. I am not saying the Hawks are not good, just not as good as the Bruins....

I am going to say what you already know but cant say since you are a Hawks blogger, Boston in 5.

- puckindnet

Sorry, any team that take seven games and a miracle to beat Toronto is not, by any stretch of the imagination, unbeatable. I think with this post, you underestimate how good your team is/was, and how very, very good the team was that beat them. Boston will have the same problem with the Hawks everyone else has. Remains to be seen how well they'll handle it.

Wow. When you battle through three rounds and come out the victor, despite having your two stars taking most of those games off, a lot of people come out with hate and disrespect. Sorry to all of you who take so much joy in trashing another fan base as they celebrate their team. Maybe it's time for you to enjoy another sport, and another blog.

To my Hawk fan brothers, I'm so excited that we made it. How many heart attacks and ulcers have we shared watching our team this year. Here's hoping there's more to celebrate!!

GO Hawks--and GO AWAY HATERS!!!

I remember that game. 2-3 weeks ago, I would have been real worried about that, but I do think this Hawk team has a LOT more sack than that one. Handzus, Shaw, Bickell, Rozsival. But, we'll see.

And I think the Hawks coaching staff should look long and hard to see why the Leafs gave the Bruins all they could handle. Use their speed to force the Bruin defence and forwards into giveaways, driving the net, showing Chara zero respect, and getting into Rask's grill to see if he can't self destruct. One area that is crucial to the Hawks is to try to antagonize but not let the Bruins antagonize them. Do the Christian thing and turn the other cheek, unless the Hawks can build a good lead then it's back to the Torah for an eye for an eye!

Tuuka (sic) Rask is probably a better goalie than Corey Crawford.

Probably? If you mean better by miles, then sure.

2011-12 season: Sat Oct 15 2011 at Chi Boston 3, Chicago 2 (SO)

Yeah....the Bruins really destroyed the Hawks.....

Eklund summarized the all-time series between the two teams.

We'll see but my initial reaction is...um, yes!

This Hawks team has quite a bit more depth than the two versions they fielded the years after winning the Cup.

Also, this team has shown throughout these playoffs that they can play a physical game. In addition to the usual customers Shaw, Bickell, and Seabs, I've seen all of these guys throwing pretty solid checks as well: Sharp, Frolik, Saad, Kruger, Handzus, Hossa, Bolland, Rozival, Oduya.

We were supposed to get pummeled by a big scary King team and it didn't happen. Game to game there wasn't a huge disparity in the hit dpet between teams either. Overrated stat I know but the point could also be made that the Hawks threw more or at least as many big hits through the course of the series.

I don't wanna be disrespectful or anything, but are you really gonna compare that team from 2 years ago to this team? I mean, the. i can say, in 2009/2010 the Hawks beat the Bruins in Chicago in a shootout, and then wiped the floor with them in Boston 5-2...Last year I believe the Bruins won in a shootout, abd that was after trailing the Hawks in the third period...And last years team as a whole was much worse than this years team....Just wanna say I'm not goin to let games played from over a year ago be the barometer for this series...It all depends which team forces their style of hockey on the other team..Here is to hoping the Hawks force the Bruins to play their game, and what the hell, how bout a goal or two on the PP in game 1 from the Hawks to make the Bruins think a little about taking penalties

Bolland as well may as well triple the fun.

Marchand has been one of the best Bruins in these playoffs and may be the easiest to get off his game.

After watching nearly every Bruins game in the PO's, I have no clue who will win this series. They didn't play anyone who matches our combo of speed, skill and defense.

That said, I do firmly believe that each of our lines and D pairs will have to give maximum effort in every game and in every period for the Hawks to prevail. Boston is a great team that doesn't take any time off. They are better than the Kings, IMO.

It's what we've all been waiting for Phil; should be awesome!

Nice to see your stint in the dog house after bolting the reception was a short one.

O6 and two teams that have never faced each other for the Cup. For yours, mine and the health sake of the other posters on this board; I hop we win in 4 or 5!

thing with Marchand playing that game with him actually makes him better, that's what the pen's tried with Cooke and it backfired quickly, Marchand loves that game.... But he take some stupid A$$ penalties sometimes, that's the good and bad (Give and take) that ya get from Marchand.

Let's not BULLSPIT...Marchand is a helluva hockey player and you're right Paul...he is playing great hockey. Just hope we stand up to him, but not in an obvious retaliatory way...since that usually lands the responder in the sin bin.

Bolland will be all over him too.

Marchand, Shaw and Bolland all play that game and all will play better when they do. All of them are capable of restraining themselves when they are winning but all are more than capable of losing it when they are losing.
