Nope. They'll go after the big fish in Pietrangelo and hope its more than St Louis can afford. - Iggysbff
Pietrangelo is going nowhere just like Weber stayed in Nashville - end of story!! |

they should look at shattenkirk, would be a nice top 4 moving D man that they could use after losing carle & acquiring J Bo at the deadline & another year o pay him plus alex P may make that a possibility |

Sorry Bill,
I hope you are totally wrong on this one. We do not need anyone with a major weight problem like that. I like Big Buff but why go through all of that. The Flyers just have to find a trade partner in which they win the trade. I would trade the entire team if I knew I going to get a better one back and win the cup. Because, that should be all that matters. I would trade Giroux for the right deal. Multiple high firsts, this year and next, a top 4 forward and a top 4 defender.
The Flyers should amnesty both Bryz and Danny. Give whatever to LA for Bernier.
Try and sign N. Horton and attempt to get another pick in this draft. Question people; Would you trade Giroux for A. Ladd, Z. Begosian, 13th pick and next years #1 from Winnipeg? They get star power and we get 4 players. - bushhunter

They didn't have the space last time (with Weber) either. If they got AP they would quickly buyout a couple contracts and be fine. If they offered max term and max $ you think St Louis would match? - Iggysbff
Can't do any quick buyouts after the draft, but hey can make some givaway trades. |

No ,but if he gets a rediculous offer they can't afford to pay,and agree to match anyway they can say goodbye to Shattenkirk and Stewart. |

St. Louis has 24 million in cap space to sign 4 RFA's with. Signing them all isn't going to be a problem, even if one or two get a massive offer sheet. |

AP-6.5
Shat-5
Stewy-5.5
Berg-5
That leaves them 2.5 mill to sign another 3 guys. Allen and Russell will also need a deal.
Something may have to give. I get the feeling they would dump Perron first though. |

cap hit 5, salary 6.5 this season. Effing Fat Fck Feaster for that one.

Blues have 11 forwards signed, Berglund and Stewart makes 13. They have 4 defensemen signed, AP and Shatty makes 6. 2.5 million is plenty to sign a 7th defenseman and 14th forward. Allen will be in the AHL on a 2 way deal, unless Halak or Elliott is traded. Russell's rights will be traded unless he is willing to make 7th defensemen type money. So... even using your guess at salaries, yes Blues are totally fine. |

still cuts them very close
and they are going a little bit cheap on goaltending, considering that they may look to get a more bonafide #1 stopper. which may force at least a one $ player purge |

Sure, but that was using his inflated salary numbers. Berglund, Shattenkirk, and Stewart are all much more likely to make about a million less (at least) than he suggests a piece.
As far as going after a bonafide #1, if they do they would be giving up Halak, so there is 3.75 of the salary, and shipping out Elliott letting Allen be backup, giving them another .8ish million of space. Meaning they already have 4.5 million of cap space they would be freeing if going after a #1. |

I think Berglund and Stewy will make around 4, 4.5 on a long term deal. Cant make more than the Captain play by the Blues.
Petro will sign a Karlsson like deal, and Shatty should sign around 3.5m to 4m deal on a shorter deal. |

No on Rattie. His defense isn't up to the level the Blues expect from their forwards. He wouldn't even be the first call up for a top 9 spot at this point, Jaskin would. |

old CBA and a UFA, I think as a RFA and wanting to be on St Louis, he cant pull that on this contract, thats why I think they look at Subban deal as the precedent |

Exactly. The outlier deals for UFA's don't set the market. Subban, M Staal, Cam Fowler, Erik Johnson... plenty of players comparable to Shatty (in value, not playstyle necessarily) making around 4mil. |

What happens if the rumours are true and they bring in Miller?
And not sure about this year but Blues ownership has never been one to spend to the cap. |
