Timonen has regressed. It's not rocket science here. Anyone with a hockey IQ can see it. He is SLOWER.
Streit moves the puck, but defensively, which was the problem in Philly, he is worse than Timonen.
You need to stop using the Pronger card as far as injuries. You need to accept the fact he isn't playing again. Your defense wouldn't have been good if injuries didn't happen. Everyone had injuries. The fact remains this, you don't have anything on the farm that you could use to fill the void. Almost everyone else does in some fashion, except Calgary. - Oneonta Penguin
Jak, I don't think there's a conversation to be had here. |

The only reason the Pens are a great team now is that they sucked so bad for so long and collected top 5 picks for a number of years. They were basically handed a top 5 player in the game in Crosby.
No knock on Shero - he is very good, but let's keep things in perpective. - Daman
Wow...don't YOU even get tired of using that argument? |

Based on the way he played in the play-offs, nope. His stock dropped significantly. - Oneonta Penguin
Wishful thinking, imo. |

That's an interesting theory. Did you just come up with that all on your own?.... because you might find this hard to believe, but we've NEVER heard it before. |

I see no way Letang goes easy at the negotiating table. Then again, I don't believe in discounts in general. - BulliesPhan87
He will be traded prior to the draft. He isn't worth Suter money; he isn't worth 6.5-7 million based on his play-off performances the last two years. He says he wants to remain a penguin. If he wants to remain, he will have to come down on that price. If I know he isn't worth it, Shero must. After all, we saw the same performance the last two play-off seasons.

I'm counting on it...a bit. In a perfect world he'd re-sign for $6M....but this new CBA got everything twisted. If he gets traded, give me Evander please |

Seriously trying to tell me what the Flyers problems were last year?
In a nut shell... we had a most AHL caliber defense aside from the top pairing for the majority of the season. Our top d-man (who regressed soooo mightily that only 3 people in the entire NHL had more points AND a better +- ) was playing with multiple injuries which forced him out of play (a total rarity in and of itself).
-Back to the nutshell-
Our AHL defense was not at all supported by our forwards. We had zero dedication to team defense. Forwards were typically sitting in the neutral zone looking for homerun passes that were not to come. Our single biggest problem was the lack of a true puck moving d-man. After that it was a lack of team wide commitment to defense. Our d-men were not the problem (for our defensive woes) our forwards were.

This is why, among many other reasons, why no one takes you seriously. The Penguins missed the playoffs for 4 seasons. We had 5 top 5 picks, 2 of which are gone, and 1 of which most Penguins fans want seen gone. We were lucky to get Crosby and Malkin, but what Shero has done to build a team that consistantly is a Cup contender is why the Pens are so successful. |

I think so too. Our return will be better than the one we took for J.Staal. I get excited just to think about it. |

Where did I even "use the pronger card". He was out before the season started.. along with Bourdon as I stated... If ANYONE realizes the severity of Prongers injury... I believe it would be myself. (bump) |

There are many intelligent fans that agree with Da Man...and well, let's just say there are other people, including some that may prefer a short bus to a long bus. |

You used the injury card and brought up his name as an excuse. He won't be playing again. Time for you to realize it and stop making it an injury excuse and use him as ammo.

I figure just let it lay. It's their turf, he's only going to look at the Flyers in a negative light, may as well let him have his ball. In short, youarewrong.
We can always go back to our thread, at least we can deal with hatewrs on the level there |
