That's really dumb. They could get Yandle for the long run. He'd help a lot. - Orpik44
Yandle hits like an American League pitcher. |

I could see the Oilers making a push for Letang. Would take the 8th pick, a current roster player, and probably 2 prospects to get it done. That should be ballpark range for a return. |

He would be a bigger need for the Flyers than the next coming of Ron Francis who has a long, long, long, long, long, long way to go before coming Ron Francis at 60%. They need defense and a PMD. They could have gotten it by making the move and not having to pay a 4th rounder and give Streit anywhere between 4.5-5 million per year for a 35 year old PMD that isn't great on the D. |

The other team would be Carolina. They need blueliners. I just don't see a match. A first and ???

It seems as though you confused DaMan with a Flyers fan... I dont even know if he is human. - jak521
More God like? Even I admit that's a stretch, but thanks for such high praise. |

Screw the picks. Letang for Eberle straight up. |

That seems pretty steep at first glance but it's almost what we got for Staal. I mentioned earlier this year an Eberle for Letang swap. Assuming they negotiated with Letang prior to |

So, the deal would be Letang for Dumoulin, Pouliot, Sutter and another first round pick, in essence?
Staal would be nice to have back, but he doesn't solve the cap issue one iota.
I don't see a match as far as a return.

Does Letang have a NMC? If so Eberle would be a nice return.
I was thinking about Fleury, after last season everyone wanted to run Martin out of town, well not he is the best Dman we have. Perhaps Fleury can turn his game around. He has the skill level. |

I'll give you this.... Once Rinaldo learned a little self control, he was pretty effective. He really deserved more ice time down the stretch. - madmike71
Rinaldo is very effective in his role. However, Rinaldo isn't the type of player that will push this team towards the top.
We need another all star level winger. I don't consider Harts that player.
I think Voracek is great and all but we need someone better than Read, Harts and Simmonds. |

Not once this yr have I watched the 3rd line and thought "The Pens need Staal" he was good, but he wasnt a game changer. |

Let me preface this by saying I like Eberle alot and I would do that on the surface. However, Edmonton wouldn't because they would be scared to lose Letang after one year. He wouldn't resign there.
Does Eberle make us more play-off ready in that deal? Sure, it would open up another trade of someone like Neal or Kunitz, for other pieces.

For that sort of return, I would think that they'd have to be able to talk to Letang and work out an extension before hand though.

Colorado! Package deal with MAF. I'm sure Roy would like to take a shot at fixing Fleury. |

OMG ... I agree with this post.
I felt putting Rinaldo on that list is a joke. He will never be what you would call a core player that is a difference maker. Same with McGinn; same with Gusty. He is a very effective pest. But, he pales in comparison to Matt Cooke. He will never reach that level as far as the type of player Cooke is. |

Just looking at what Staal got last year. Letang is probably equal to more value than Staal, and you have more than 1 team bidding for him. |

Here's a question that popped into my head. Who would have ever thought the Penguins would get swept in a swept in a series where they didn't allow a PP goal? It still boggles the mind. I bring this up because I've been evaluating Murray's work as a Penguin, and even though slow, when used situationally, we was a force down low, especially on the PK. I'd like to see him again, more than Morrow and Iggy. |

I think this will be a requirement to get full value for Letang regardless the team. |

That's not a question that can be answered. Eberle would bring a lot of skill and youth to an area where we currently have none outside of Bennett. Letang leaving would open up a spot for Despres who might not be as productive offensively but could be better defensively at some point. Also you could assume Eberle would replace Letangs points. Lot of variables I think Letang is a special player but he's earned the right to make a lot of money if he wants that you take the best deal available. Your not going to get many better players then Eberle

No. I said Rinaldo isn't close to being a Matt Cooke as far as doing good things on the ice and won't reach that level.
