You're literally blaming us for Eklund's poopty cap central? Laughable.
As for Couturier, goes to show how much you watched. He was literally a fourth line center both this and last season. There was a stretch when he was on the second line to start this season, but he struggled in an increased offensive role. - BulliesPhan87
UMMM ... cap geek too has him at 3.1, so its not only your homer that has it wrong, I guess capgeek has it wrong as well, or maybe you are the one that is wrong, right?

Just got out of a meeting, has Malkin been traded yet ? - MadCap2008
No, the contrary. Alexei signed a 22 year deal worth big $$$$, making him richer than Mark Cuban.
All joking aside, Malkin deserves top level money and years but it will be interesting to see the cap ramifications in 2 - 5 years.
Cheers! |

I still don't at all understand why you're holding me responsible for Eklund and Daman.
Also, if you promise to drop the 'Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia' Richard waving pretense for fifteen minutes, I will explain Schenn's cap hit to you. You have to promise, though. |

I'm not about ready to say Dupes is gone. I wouldn't be shocked to see Kunitz dealt though. He is a UFA after next year. Then again, we don't have anyone in the system to fill his shoes and you aren't going to get a huge return for him, like a stud youngster on an ELC - Oneonta Penguin
This was assuming we traded Letang for Eberle. top 6 would be crosby, malkin, neal, bennett, eberle, kunitz and I don't think we'd be able to resign Dupes |

Bah, he's never going to drop the attitude, so I'll give you the explanation, free of charge:
Brayden Schenn has an enormous (edit: well, enormous for an ELC) bonus built into his contract, which he only receives if he plays in all 82 NHL games in a season, and also skated for 25 minutes in each game (I assume they'll use his minutes/game average for this). Without the bonus cushion, the cap must account for this bonus until it is no longer achievable. So, he'll probably sit for a game. |

I think so too. Our return will be better than the one we took for J.Staal. I get excited just to think about it. - Orpik44
Personally I thought the return was damn good considering Staal back Shero into a corner. |

Let me preface this by saying I like Murray. That said, I might be more inclined to resign Eaton over him. Iggy won't take Guerin money. I wouldn't even resign him. Add Niskanen gone and we are in agreement.

Well, then the salary chart on this site, one run by a Flyers homer and cap geek is wrong. It has him at 3.1 million. Maybe your boy should correct it.
Did Couts have a similar year? I don't remember seeing the second coming of Ron Francis having fourth line minutes as a rookie. - Oneonta Penguin
HAHAH he played literally the entire season on the fourth line... to the point that Flyers fans have wanted Lava fired for his "misuse" of Couts. His most common line mates are 4th liners.
With the expected departure of Briere... we will get to see what he really has. |
|
|
|
The funny thing here is that many Pens fans are ready to show Letang the door and many Flyers fans would give their first born to get Letang.

No.. I was talking about Schenn.
Schenn is set to make 810k this upcoming season. He has a bonus that pays out 2. something million if he plays in EVERY NHL regular season game for over 26 minutes of icetime or something completely unfeasible.

I have serious doubts that at his age, Eaton can keep up a high level of play for a full season. He wasn't nearly as good as the playoffs went along. He was a stopgap measure at best. I'd rather see more of a guy like Bortuzzo who is a young player with upside rather than a guy who was unemployed going into last season. |
