Gonchar got 5 million and Streit probably will as well. You tell me what Girardi will make. Thank Dallas and Philadelphia for grossly overpaying old Dmen and in Streit's case, a lousy Dman. - Oneonta Penguin
Damn it. It's hard to see that kind of money being thrown around. So probably Girardi will start conversations at $6-6.5M. I hope the Streit signing come back to hunt them |

I could say Shattenkirk is worth Girardi in a straight up deal. I'm not playing NHL13 here, just my perception - Orpik44
Girardi is that kind of guy you dont realize how good he is till he's on your team. And He may be more valuable to a Pittsburgh who lack that shutdown guy then he would be for say Boston who have shutdown guys. Only reason I bring it up is because they are each literally perfect for the other team |

I hear you and I trust you. If we could re-sign Letang and Scuderi (who seems to be a player like Girardi in some degree), I'd be ecstatic |

Anyone think Letang would be able to get Pacioretty and Collberg in a trade? |

I probably would try to get Gorges as well if we were to trade Letang+ to the Habs. Pacioretty would be a good return for sure. |

Another trade that could work for us is Giordano/Glencross for Letang...but I'm 100% sure he wouldn't sign an extension there. |

Slewbban is only signed through next season, so Letang's big money wouldn't hit until he's gone (plus Markov & Kaberle coming off). Montreal has been rumored to be after Letang for years. |

Gunner, congrats. I don't know when you're starting but I'm not going to be around this weekend so don't start off with anything too controversial. |

Letang is french canadian. I'm sure they'd love to put their hands on him. I'd even say they could "overpay a bit", just like Carolina did with J.Staal. Pacioretty or Gallagher and Gorges would be my choices. |

Ehhh I think Letang could get better players in a deal. Personally, I'd really like to see some sort of deal with the ducks involving John Gibson and some other assets for Letang. Then trade Fleury for an established 2way defenseman. |

I hate to be that guy but for what it's worth I think subban will be a better player than letang when all I said and done. If you are willing to put up with his antics and his dumb penalties he's very very talented. I'm not saying he's better right now because I think letang is better now but subban still has a lot of growing to do before he's a finished product whereas letang has had many years to fix his mental approach to the game and hasn't done so well as seen in the playoffs. |

if we are going to send him to montreal, I want at least Beaulieu and Gallagher. their youth would be good additions to our team. would also like their 1st too.
love Eller but doubt they trade him. |

That does NOT help. You realize you are adding an additional 3.2 million towards the cap by acquiring those two. You would have to deal Kunitz then to get under the cap |

Patches or Gallagher AND Gorges? That is something Montreal WOULDN'T consider.

Gunner, yes congrats. The bar is set high on hockeybuzz, and I am sure you are up to the task.
Look forward to it - should be interesting!
