I never said the Leafs were a lock for winning the cup if they got by the B's. I would have been thrilled just to have the Leafs knock out the B's. That would satisfied Leaf Nation. Any success beyond the Boston seires would have been a bonus. Even beating the B's & losing to the Rangers, Leaf Nation would have been ok with that at this point in the young developing Leafs.

Bruins just scored the first goal, by Lucic. And Ek, the Leafs did wake up the Bruins, Lucic in particular. I forget what game it was but, Phaneuf did something to Lucic and The Looch retaliated and got a penalty. He was incensed over it and from then on The Big Grizzly Bear seemed to make it his personal business to put the Leafs out and he's been playing very well since.
