And if he falls that far ? yes . same chance as the others of making it .
Sabres F@#$ked this draft by winning the last games . Next year this team as it stands will be better. And would prolly make the playoffs. We are tired of missing a star player. - cabin
I know, but I'm just a tad hesitant to give up a lot for a top-3. In the end, if Darcy moves up at all, I probably won't have a problem with it.

Giving up 6 nhl ready players is freaking insane . IF Darcy runs the draft. and does what he has . it could be great.

Don't know . but was told to many things not making sense. Ruff turning down the Rags interview. - cabin
I would like to see Darcy step aside and move to scouting and let another GM come in but I'd be shocked if we brought Lindy back. I've always been a huge Lindy supporter but this one I'd be shocked

I'm on the fence with that. I showed worker Homers post and he flipped out . from what he has heard . I think Darcy moves up and so does Ruff. Ive been drinking all night so take it for what its worth.
Edit: I love my spell check

I still have a shred of faith remaining in Darcy... I think he can really pull off something special. Hopefully he gets rid of his conservative mindset.

Unless they bring him back to fold T-shirts and jerseys in the Sabres store I'm gonna be pissed. Talk about not being able to move on

I think people are reading too much into this. Ruff is still being paid by the Sabres. Therefore he's in no hurry to rush into another coaching job. He'll take a job with whatever team he wants, whenever he wants. He has all the time in the world to find the right situation.
Hopefully he comes back when things start happening. I could care less about his or anyone's sources - I just like his takes. Don't always agree with them, but I respect the thought he puts into them.

Sather has got to be a bit tough to transition to after the Darcy situation. I'd imagine Ruff is maybe keen on more autonomy than he'd get through that organization as a coach right now.
Maybe he doesn't feel like being the window dressing to the ultimate hiring of Messier.

Agreed Nf.
He has some insights to throw someones idea under a bus.

He's been passed over by more teams than those that have/wanted to interview him.

Teams put feelers out before official interviews. They have an idea of what he's about and what kind of autonomy he is looking before before they even make a decision to interview the guy. It could be because they think he's a lost cause. Again, he's getting paid, and getting paid well. He holds all the cards.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. Sather seems like a guy that only a certain type of guy can work for, and Ruff could very well want no part of it.
