RAJ not only over paid, he lost the 1st rd pick. Adams will come around, the injury last year was serious. Charlie is terrible at picking situations for the BP arms to come in. Horst is a lefty specialist, period. However, we don't know what's coming from upstairs.
Delmon Young? Seriously?

Nope! My wife declined to know at the last minute when we went for the ultrasound. Then, a week later, declined again when we had to go back because baby was positioned in such a way that they could not get all of the measurements that the ultrasound techs wanted. - Flyskippy
And then Skip looked at the ultrasound and said, "My God! He's hung like a moose!" |

There's a lot of luck involved with drafting. And it's really unbelievable how unlucky the Flyers have been when it comes to drafting defenseman and goaltenders. - MJL

The Flyers have had their share of misfortune and tragedy. Ashbee, Parent's back and then eye. The way injuries ravaged the 1985 & 87 finalists, Lindros being out for the 1999 playoffs with the lung and then the circus in 2000. The numerous injuries on defense in 2004. Coburn and Timonen missing for most of the 2008 ECF vs the Pens...

Oh, man...just...wow. Just cannot buy a break when it comes to this stuff.
Really, it's why I continue to support the franchise with the energy that I do -- some of the stuff that has happened to this team is Twilight Zone-caliber.
I mean, think about it. Nearly every draft you can think of usually has two "can't-miss" guys. Right? When was the last time you saw an NHL draft and it just had question marks about every single guy?
It's happened three times in the last 15 years -- 1999. 2012. And...2007.
Of course, in the one year the Flyers were abysmal, truly abysmal, they are awful in between two of the best "Top Heavy" drafts the NHL has seen, in 2006, where Jordan Staal and Jonathan Toews were drafted in the Top 3, and 2008, when Steven Stamkos, Drew Doughty and Alex Pietrangelo were the Top 3.
Good Lord. Good Lord. Good Lord.
I need to stop. |

Shhhhhh! I have long felt that Calgary is the most likely trading partner for the Flyers for Meszaros. But keep that under your hat. We don't want to scare them off. |

Well then let's look at the Flyers drafting record under Holmgren and give him a performance review. It's pretty solid. And making that analogy is pretty weak. Are you dealing with the inexact science that the NHL Draft is? That's a crap shoot at best, for even those who are the best at it? - MJL
i'm judging him overall and i'm seeing a guy, who, kinda like bryz, has had his moments, but ultimately is avg. if this team doesn't show signs of growth this season, he should be gone. |
