Cool thanks lol. It seems everyone is a know it all and I like how we have Islander fans saying our GM knows nothing, but I don't think our GM sign Rick Depietro for a long long term contract and got some of the best years out of a goalie I've ever seen.
- BernieKorch
You're right. Your GM didn't sign DP to that ridiculous contract. He signed "3" other ridiculous contracts: Jeff Carter, Mike Richards and Ilya Brz. Great moves. Where are they now? 2 won cups somewhere else (something the Flyers havent done in 30 something years) and the other is a lousy goalie that seems to want out and they also want him out (great signing). So before you defend your GM of the year, check your Flyer history. Please respond after you win a cup. Look forward to hearing back from you in another 30 years. |

Funny but not true, the kid was back in Northwestern Ontario this summer in a franking nice BMW he looked to be in good shape, and helped out with coaching a b level junior team. He's got a sweet franking boat too! WTF happened to him or the Flyers? |

Go Troll on your own site, this is a Flyers blog not Islanders. We could care less what you think your team made the playoffs for once thats great, congratulations. Nobody wants to play for your team, every trade made there the player throws a fit.

Let me remind you. The answer is 4, with the first being against a team from PA in 6 games, in 1980, remember ? |

You are right. Visnovsky didn't want to play. He resigned for two years, same as Nabby, who doesn't want to be here but resigned once already.streit never wanted to come here, but signed for 5 years. Once they get here, they want to stay. Look it up |

Yes. Bryzgalov was a stupid contract. However, unlike Alexei Yashin, the Flyers won't be carrying a cap hit on him for the next 12 years. And yes Richards and Carter went on to win a Stanley Cup in Los Angeles, as second line players, rather than first liners, and mainly because Jonathan Quick played out of his mind in last year's playoffs.
The Flyers also turned Carter and Richards into 4 very good NHLers, so it's not as if they were given away.
Finally, while the Flyers had a bad year this year and the Isles made the playoffs, remember usually it's Garth and Charles in the lottery. Enjoy the drive to Brooklyn since begging Long Island failed to get you a new arena...if the Isles were as mismanaged as the Flyers, they could have just done what the Flyers did. Build their own arena. |

He struggled badly in the 2010 playoffs. For a guy whose entire game is defense, he looked lost at times, and really fell out of favor. He also battled some injuries.
Good to hear he's doing well. He showed flashes of being a potential shut down type guy. |

Wang tried but the county rejected it after he spent millions and millions trying to get it through. They are not the same team as they have been, finally. |

Yep, that's swell. The Flyers paid for their own building, rather than spending millions and millions to push it through, they just built the thing themselves.
Personally, I hope the Isles are back for good. Things are more fun when they are a competitive team.
But to come here and criticize the Flyers for a few bad moves, when the Isles are still paying Yashin to play in Russia and keep Carol Alt away from Tavares, and when they're trading for Tim Thomas to help make the cap floor, is kind of odd...like Winger fans teasing Nickelback fans |

It sucked. He had a really solid run one season, looked like he'd be a keeper-and since he was a key piece in the Forsberg trade, everyone rooted for him....just didn't work out. |

Again, Wang tried to build a complex/arena with his own money but the jerks from the county rejected it. As much as Wang is an idiot when it comes to hockey, he can't take the blame for the arena. Players will now want to start coming now that they are competitive and will be moving to possibly the nicest arena in the sport in 1-2 years. |

Unfortunately, the Flyers are sort of heavy on stay at home type guys right now. I'd certainly be open to a camp try out type situation. |
