Wait....did that article you quoted said Snider "owned" Comcast?
I'm sure the Roberts family would like a word. |

I have to go with Barnaby. I hate the fake teeth, had the smile.... He once shot puck after puck at me and my dad who had glass seats during the whole warm-up skate. - youarewrong
That's actually pretty funny. |

Any one of the younger players could have pulled a Bryan Bickell if given the opportunity.
This team has just been forced to make so many decisions on players based on lack of cap-space and limited minutes, partly because of Briere... I always wonder if they wouldn't have been a better team if they had taken their time w/ the rebuild vs immediately reloading. - Tomahawk
It's not known if they would have been. So criticizing the GM for some of his roster moves without crediting him for the rest of his moves seems shortsighted. The move or non-move I think is the most crucial has nothing to do with the roster. It is whether keeping the coach was the best move going forward. |

True, someone needs to re-play some of our games for Laviolette. EVERY DAY. Until he can figure out how to best utilize our D in his system. EVERY DAY. - FlyersGrace
Recent history would lead you to think that his system is hapless against teams that play it closer to the vest, but Lavi's system did beat three straight defensive clubs en route to the Finals in 2010, and also overcame a really tight Devils team en route to the Cup in 2006. |

That tall guy they had helped that a lot. He covered up a lot of mistakes.
Also, aside from Halak, never thought Montreal was that good defensively. They couldn't even keep their skates held together. |

Yep, but our D composition was a bit different. We need him to adjust as his personel and his opponents do. Minor tweaks is fine. But it's unrealistic to think you'll win the same way with a completely different set of players... |

Just think all of the injuries that wouldn't have happened if the Flyers had a different trainer? - MJL
He was the lone gunmen in the bushes that got Pronger's eye. Magic bullet it was. Only a sports trainer has that kind of aim. |

I have no problem with giving Homer full marks for the way he unwound the mess that Clarke left him... that was masterful. Inventing trading for impending UFA-rights, and having the cajones to pull off a lot of the trades he's made are also worthy of credit.
I'm just imagining a scenario where Snider has the stomach for a proper rebuild instead mandating a quick reload... it's all just speculative. |

The thing that hurts is, their not calling the interference as close as they did on 06. I'll go to my grave thinking the flyers only won that Boston series Bc krecji went down. That was everything |

Used to love Domi (the Probert fights were great) until the Adam Burt incident. How do you run away from McCarthy and Berube, start hitting Adam Burt while he's held down, literally hide behind Tomas Kaberle from Luke Richardson, try to grab Brian Boucher while Belfour has a hold of him, the run your mouth at McCarthy when the ref has him pinned against the boards, and call yourself a tough guy? Sorry, all respect lost right then and there.
I think I hated Barnaby most. Avery was just a joke, and caused more harm than good to the Rangers, so I'm okay with it. Darcy Tucker was a punk, but he was at least pretty honest. Barnaby was pretty much the perfect pest. He had that face you just wanted to hit. Also, when he went after Garth Snow after being "hurt"...got I wanted someone to knock out those 2 teeth that had the Sabres tattoos on them. - jmatchett383

Heres a crazy question/idea...
I wonder if the loss of Pronger had a negative affect on Bryz...
Pronger played with Bryz in ANA, and I can almost remember Pronger being an advocate for the move (signing bryz). I wonder if losing Pronger from the team kinda hurt Bryz's chance at succeeding here. |

Didn't Homer come out and say that Lavi made adjustments in the defensive zone (to play more like other teams in the division, aka collapsing) at the start of the year but the players struggled to adapt due to lack of camp/practice?
He also simplified the system overall once all the rookies got into the lineup.
That seems like a guy who's more willing to adapt to his circumstances than fans tend to give him credit for. Of course, what everybody really wanted, was for Lavi to xerox Sutter's or DeBoer's systems. |

So the lack of a training camp with a roster consisting mostly of returning players was something that didn't allow players to adapt?
However, once an influx of brand new players who had little to no experience with the NHL game/Flyers came in, they were able to instantly adapt? |

Um, Hades yes. Any team that loses Chris Pronger on the blue line becomes a worse team, allows more scoring chances he would have mitigated, and has less swagger on the ice. |

Damn, I should have been more specific. I meant off ice. By losing Pronger did he lose his chance at gaining support and confidence from his team? |
