deleted? cmon it was a joke - Crimsoninja
Seems like things are tightening up. Not sure if it's just the mods. I kinda blame it on new peoples love of the [!] button. I've had several comments deleted and have been banned in the last month or so. I think in all the years I've been on here I had one argument deleted. Definitely ramping up. I'm back to behaving myself a little more than usual. |

I just want to say that I apologize for the contract the Streit signed. Trust me, you guys will soon see what islander fans have been talking about - NYI44
Well maybe we can trade him back to you guys so you can get to the cap floor! LOL
Seriously though never knew you guys hated him so much... weird to me. I've got no worry about the money but term is long. |

John Tavares for MVP? - jmatchett383
It's a joke. A guy decides to play half a season and wins MVP. Just proves that the NHL will only pick big names. |

NMC protects against waivers, too. |

4 year deal at 5.5+ for a 35 year old is a steep price to pay. Like I said before, he fills a need he's a good QB on the PP, and can move the puck, but he's not very good in his own end. Strictly an offensive dman.
With Briere out and Streit in the Flyers are a better team, roster isn't a finished product, but lots of work to be done. |

Trust me I don't hate him one bit. I liked him a lot and he played well always even when the isles were awful, which was a lot during his time as an Islander. Just time to move on for him, but I have a ton of respect for him. He may have a few issues, but he is not awful |

It's on TSN that it's 4years... man that's a long term. Please stay healthy.

4 years at 5.5. I knew we weren't going to like it. I thought we had a shot at 3 at 5.75 |

yeah im hoping its below 5.5 obviously
but there werent many other options out there and you couldnt really expect a guy like Streit to sign for cheap or for short term |

Speak for youself. I am fine with it. If 4 years at 5.5 is the cost it takes to keep schenn and couts... fine. |

is the deal done? - Marc D
Very possible that a deal has been agreed to. But it won't be announced until after the Flyers make some player moves. IE: buyout Briere.

We didn't trade anyone for him and he fills a need. If this activates the Bryzgalof buy out it's a win win. I'm done with him. |

If he can play the 4/5 spot and anchor the second PP unit, I"ll be ok.. have to see, but Offensive dmen cost you big nowadays in either assets or money. I'm more ok with this than a Couturier and schenn for Yandle. |

If the alternative was trading Couturier or a B. Schenn package for a marginal type d-man, sign me up for this.
I'm not very high on Edler. I have zero doubts that he would come to Philly and break into a billion pieces. |

We're currently -$2,552,262 over the cap, and i believe you're only allowed to spend 10% over the cap during the offseason. So that'd be 6.43M. So the Flyers have to make some moves before this can be finalized.
Im pretty sure you have to wait till end of the season to use an amnesty, no?
Maybe Meszaros gets traded? - FLYERSROCK!
It's not technically the off season yet. That 10% over the Cap off season exemption doesn't kick in until July 5th. But you are correct in that they have to make some moves first due to tagging space to officially sign him.
And take that total on Capgeek with a grain of salt. Capgeek does not calculate the off season Cap. It is an guesstimate of the roster for the following Season |

We'll see how he does. With the Isles, he was the captain and he had all the respect of the fans. He wont have that in Philly, but I think he'll be fine. I'm sure he'll be good, but still not sure if he's worth the years/money. |

I know isles fans think it's lunacy, but our D is a mess right now regarding puck moving.. we need someone like this or it'll be out of the playoffs again.. |

He wanted 4 years, near $5mm with the Isles. Let's face it, he wasn't taking much less to come to terms here. |
